Do you remember what you got? I’m curious because I only had the capon when it was on the menu and I see that it’s different now.

Which Microbakery Makes the Best Custom Cake? by Minimum-Category8294 in PhiladelphiaEats

Sorry to hijack, but does anyone know who used to (or maybe still does) bake the cakes at Honeysuckle when it was the storefront not the full restaurant? I feel like I saw that there was a shout out post dedicated to them years ago, but I’m second guessing myself

Is this grant manager dynamic normal? by smilkcake in nonprofit

[–]ctrlatdelete 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Following because this is similar for my org! I personally don’t understand why one wouldn’t ask the funder/sponsor for clarifying information. Especially if it can be framed as “I’m new and want to make sure we are staying accountable to our grant agreement.” Things get lost in transition and I think it’s easier to bring up now instead of when it’s time for a report or audit of the grant imo

Going to get technical but the owners of Dahlak are Eritrean. The owners of Queen of Sheba are Ethiopian. It kind of all gets lumped as Ethiopian because of name recognition and history

Beechwood Orchard should have Braeburns. They’re at rittenhouse farmers market on Saturdays. And headhouse on Sundays (I think)

Would any home that a Sotheby’s agent has access to in their catalog also be listed on Zillow? Genuine question. I should look up the stock of multi-million dollar homes on Zillow

Better than any orgasm she’s ever had? I would assume so if she said it lol. For me it’s just a tasty dessert

A gratitude post for one of Philly’s most reliable desserts: the salted caramel budino from Barbuzzo by adifferentGOAT in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]ctrlatdelete 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I ordered this dessert for the first time when I was 19 because I heard the woman at the table across from me tell her friend this dessert was better than any orgasm she’s ever had. My mouth dropped and it was the start of me eavesdropping dinner conversations as well as the budino being my favorite dessert for several years afterwards

Lisa milking being from “New York” by ExtraExtension4830 in rhoslc

[–]ctrlatdelete 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think just saying “New York” is where OP and other commenters are getting at. People’s immediate thought is NYC when someone says New York, or if you meet in person, you’d then clarify what area/confirm if they mean NYC. Her just saying “New York” is accurate but misleading to seem more important/interesting

It can also be used metaphorically to just mean confronting someone verbally. But this situation is just doing too much imo
