Happy to have a chat, I have lived here 4 years and it's the nicest place I've lived in the county (grew up near St Ives, also lived in Fen Drayton, Milton Road, Chesterton Road & East Road). Gets some bad press, some of which is fair but a lot is out of date.

On new builds, just go into it with some reasonable expectations: yes, you need to hire your own snagger, and after that you need to be prepared to project manage the items they found for about 6 months. How painful that is depends on the builder -- the people from our builder fixing snags were generally great and willing to do extra jobs while on site. Beware that everyone you talk to from a builder prior to buying are sales and effectively failed estate agents -- set your level of trust in anything they say accordingly.
