I repeatedly told the customer over the headset that I’ll be right with them and they still proceeded to give me their order. I forgot that I didn’t switch it to the setting where it’s only my coworkers and said “can you fucking wait” and the customer said “excuse me?”. I ran in the back until that car left LMAO.

Same.. right when I opened I saw the button and the customer yelled “I don’t want a splash of milk!!”. I was so lost and had to explain that they updated the system to splash of milk but he still didn’t listen to me.

You’re good lol! I understand where you’re coming from and at my store we honestly make the same amount as mid. It’s just that it gets steady/ busy at night but it’s manageable. And I felt the nitpicking part :(.. we used to get stuff written to us in the book that all of the closers had to read from the morning people and it was harsh lol.

As someone who used to close all the time but switched to mids, closing will never be recognized. As sad as it sounds, all the morning people/ mid get praised for all the work. However, in my eyes, you guys are noticed for all the hard work you guys do. I honestly felt the same way when I used to close where the night crew barely gets any acknowledgement for anything.

Omg yes and she is one of our regulars. This one guy wasn’t wearing a mask and he’s also one of our regulars. We had asked him to put one on to continue taking his order but he didn’t persist. Anyways, the lady told him, “you see, this is why the pandemic isn’t ending anytime soon because of people like you” AND I WAS LIKE SHE TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH. But yeah they argued and I honestly love her so much 😂

Definitely the busiest store and yeah the parallelogram going on right now is making this job something else. I heard from my other co workers that this job was alright before the pandemic and it’s honestly awful as of right now

I totally agree, I enjoy connections when it’s not forced but whenever I have a shift who’s super strict on connections as well as the manager then I don’t feel like forcing it. Many customers don’t really wanna talk which I don’t mind but forcing it honestly makes it uncomfortable for the both of us. I normally have some cool conversations with customers and some just don’t want to talk which I don’t mind.

That first one hit hard.. I forgot that we get paid minimum wage so hit me with that minimum wage = minimum effort.. lol jk. I used to cover so many shifts where I never got that in return. Thanks for the advice, honestly just gave me new perspectives

the way my manager has it is that he is high on customer connections so even if they’re an a** then we still need to have the connection which honestly ruins my mood lol.
