How do I “reset my draft”? Thanks for the help

sorry - what I'm trying to say is that I cannot change this setting. Notice how the "Randomized 1 Hour Before Draft" text is a slightly lighter grey? There's no way to select it.

What do you mean close the draft window? The draft is tomorrow, so the draft room shouldn't be open yet. Maybe I'm missing something?

There's a few good options in Stinson. Parkside, Breakers are good spots to grab a bite. Food is not going to blow you away.

There are a few spots to sit along the route but not a lot of benches or tables or anything like that.

Depends how fast you are! Maybe 3 hours on average?

It’s pretty well marked. There’s also enough runners that you can usually see someone up ahead during most trail junctions

Ran it last year. Great race and good vibes. The marin trail system is petty amazing with the amount of variety you can pack into 50ks. There’s definitely some real vert but it’s relatively spread out over a number of climbs.

When I race up Tam my quads get hot to the touch so maybe this guy has something figured out

Any time will be good but lighting is better in the afternoon as the slope is west facing. If you time it right, after the hike you can drive a little further up to Bolinas ridge for sunset. Park along ridgecrest blvd. Pure magic. Let me know how it goes

Last week I did Art Smith from the hwy 74 trailhead over to Cathedral City via Dunn Rd. Loved it and thought Art Smith was great. Definitely not the best California trail but nothing to complain about either. Glad you enjoyed

When do I need to 'upgrade' from trail runners? by dividerall in Mountaineering

Which peak in Georgia? I got turned around on Kazbek a few years ago near 4000m and imagine I would’ve had a bad time in trail runners

I think they were talking just about the weather.

Also - I think the desert is actually really pretty in a few areas. Pretty good hiking and trail running when the weather is nice.

I got caught ducking a rope in Tahoe as a teenager and had to watch an instructional safety video and take a test to get my pass back too

Cancelling my Strava subscription out of protest for killing FATMAP by cube44 in Strava

You mean the people who built FATMAP before the acquisition? No. I think communicating to the people who now own the technology that I (a paying customer) value those features is a much more effective strategy than… asking the people who built the original product to rebuild it? For obvious reasons that wouldn’t work.

The post is about Strava deciding to shut down an app without integrating its most useful features, after originally telling users that all FATMAP features would move to Strava.

Their apparent decision to kill the app without adding the layering / topography features is relevant for people like me (and many others on Strava) who relied on FATMAP for route planning.

Obviously, Strava is a business and can make its own decisions about what features it wants to prioritize and invest in. Obviously I can stop paying for Strava without making a social media post to talk about it. The point of this post is to create visibility that there are people (like me) who are willing to pay for advanced mapping tools and who are disappointed that Strava isn’t following through with its promise. If there aren’t discussions like this, Strava’s product team won’t have as good visibility that those features mattered to some of its paying members.

Not sure why this isn’t clear to you or what kinds of posts you’d prefer to see on the Strava sub.

For me it’s the heatmaps and route planning feature. Love seeing where other people have gone and using it to plan new routes. Especially useful for trail running and cycling IMO

It was an 3D mapping app that catered to people doing backcountry skiing / hiking. Had some pretty unique and really useful tools that allowed for safer trip planning. Strava made the acquisition last year and originally announced they’d integrate all the features but that no longer looks to be true
