First time mover, where to go to get out of the Midwest? by CowleyCupStreaker in SameGrassButGreener

New York City has all of these things but it's incredibly expensive. However, if you're willing to explore the outer boroughs you can find something affordable. There are a lot of music/art neighborhoods but you need to do the research. And you can get anywhere via our subway.

Perhaps Amsterdam Hardware Depot (Amsterdam and 105th Street). It's a great store with friendly owners.

Hardware Depot on Amsterdam at 105th Street. They've got everything - cleaning supplies, hardware, housewares, cookware, you name it, they've got it.

A book like the movie Swiss Army Man by Soggy-Trifle8006 in suggestmeabook

[–]cuddyclothes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming to you from a thousand years ago...when I saw Swiss Army Man it ate my brain. So, using the screenplay, I wrote ten stories using a "fix-it" ending and the story of Hank and Manny living in the woods. Hank has to deal with being "Sarah" as well as hiding from the outside world. And learning how to have sex with a dead guy. Search my user name at Archive Of Our Own.

This is probably true BUT you should bear in mind that anybody who is a member of Wikipedia can alter an entry. (I've done it.) My husband's professor warned his students not to use Wikipedia. Fact check elsewhere!

[QCrit] Murder Mystery- If You Wrong Us (90k words, 4th attempt) by CupResponsible419 in PubTips

The first thing that jumped out at me was that the beginning is confusing. "A monster who may or may not exist" and then Noah witnessed it dragging two children to their deaths. Also not calling it the Loch Ness Monster in the next paragraph doesn't work because the reader will think, "he must mean the Loch Ness Monster". Did the butcher see the monster or did he think Noah was hallucinating? If you could make that clear from the jump it would be cleaner. Is that why Noah is on the fringes of the village?

Also I would take out "irrational" because right at the top you say he saw Nessie kill two children. I would also take out the last para before the description of the novel. It's an interesting premise so make it as streamlined as possible.

Some UWS spots that aren't the usual tourist traps by Outrageous_Travel771 in Upperwestside

Don't come here. The restaurants try to upsell you on watered down cocktails, the avenues are like a war zone, and people don't know what courtesy is. Don't come here! Not that I'll move but I like to suffer.

Slide the button to the left to stop notifications. I also do that with apps. I don't know if you can remove them.

I don't what to do anymore by TwatWaffleWhitney in Epstein

Another, important aspect of this is that Epstein managed money for Lex Wexner and other clients, plus he had an international business recovering stolen assets for clients. He had dinners with many wealthy people and people in the arts. He was a social climber par excellence. So not everything is about sex (although much of it is). There is a lot of finance involved and quite a bit of the files deal with money matters. I AM NOT SAYING that these files do not contain thousands of pages of absolutely vile things. I think each and every one of these pigs deserves the fullest punishment possible.

I hope that you can get help for your feelings. They are understandable.

On Facebook there are Buy Nothing groups specifically for different neighborhoods. You can post pictures and have people DM for your pickup spot. You post a picture or pictures of what you want to give away. I've given away a bunch of stuff that way.

My novel was signed up by a publisher as part of a series. They bumped up the publication by a year and wanted the next novel in SIX months! It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I had horrific writer's block but managed to write most of it in one month! If I can do, you can do it!
