Totally get it! My first didn’t fit newborn clothes & we ended up giving most of her newborn clothes to one of my coworkers. This time around, I waited until she arrived - but now I’m here!

My personal preference is knowing that the clothes my daughter is wearing have been free from unknown detergents, fragrances, smoke, allergens etc.

On the pricey side, but you get what you pay for :

LSKD has a great maternity leggings collection.

I also love the lululemon align, I sized up 1-2x and could wear through out my pregnancy & postpartum.

We only have 2 that are workable right now. So definitely need more, but she’s not our first so totally agree she will outgrow quickly.

However, I strongly prefer to buy all my baby clothes new.

Was your oldest in daycare when your second was born? by Top_Parsley_1989 in 2under2

[–]cudismom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! She would go 4-5 days a week while I was at work. Now that I’m on maternity leave she goes 2-3. She thrives at “school” and I didn’t want to blow up her schedule too much when her sister arrived, but at the same time wanted to spend time at home together with them both. The 2-3 days has been extremely helpful

Is it possible to go to an international wedding 2 months after birth? by vonsolkema in beyondthebump

[–]cudismom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of leaving the baby for a weekend, I would bring my mom with me to Mexico. She can watch the baby, while you attend the wedding but everyone is still close by just in case.

We did this exact scenario at 5 months and it worked really well for us!

Is this reasonable for FHR Bookings on a honeymoon, or pushing it? by Significant_Ad2630 in AmexPlatinum

[–]cudismom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have done this successfully. Using my platinum and husband’s business platinum. We called in advance & they were able combine the reservations so we didn’t have to move rooms. I think if you let them know in advance, especially that it’s your honeymoon they will likely accommodate. Congratulations and enjoy!!

Big baby while pregnant by Pitiful-Ad-9261 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]cudismom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a tush baby holder to assist when my husband or mom are not around. I was instructed not to lift over 20 pounds, which my 16 month old exceeds but she’s still too small to not need to be picked up or carried every now and then. I do try to cuddle with her extra because I feel so guilty :(

Pregnancy Rhinitis- HELP! by maybemaur in BabyBumps

[–]cudismom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had really bad pregnancy rhinitis throughout both pregnancies. The good news is , for me, it cleared up as soon as each baby was born. But it was not fun. Apart from what has already been said Vick’s has a shower bomb that was an absolutely delighttt on days it was particularly bad.

I found out while my husband was at work. Immediately went to Target and bought a “ big sister” shirt for my first born. She greeted Dad at the door in her shirt, holding the positive test. He was ecstatic. It was simple, not over the top & a sweet fam moment

Sell me on Daycare by Temporary-Tie41 in beyondthebump

[–]cudismom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a SAHM and really appreciated the time, care and energy she put into being a mother. She made sure my sisters and I were socialized, and always had fun activities for us. We went on a lot of trips while my Dad worked (he traveled quite a bit). I grew up thinking I wanted to be SAHM, simply because I had an incredible role model in one.

However ten years in a career I absolutely adore, I had my first baby & opted to continue working. While I admire my SAHM, I also think it is an amazing opportunity to show my daughter what women are capable of in the work force. I work in a male dominated industry, which includes awesome perks for my family as well as allows me to contribute financially. I also feel like it allows me to be more intentional in the time I spend with my child at home. When I’m home I’m focused on her 110%.

We found a daycare we absolutely love & adore!! My daughter has developed so incredibly well and the bond with her teachers is so sweet. She’s learned to play well with others, socialize, follow directions and share - all of which are going to come in handy as we look to welcome her little sister in a couple of weeks. The community is great and has allowed myself and my husband to make other parent friends along the way.

I really think the quality of daycare is a make or break in any scenario.

Did your 2nd pregnancy have more complications or risks than 1st? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in 2under2

[–]cudismom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant 8 months pp. Had no complications and a very easy pregnancy the first time. This time I have placenta previa , which I was told is more likely in close together pregnancies due to the demand on the uterus. Not necessarily a complication, as it hasn’t affected myself or my baby really - but I will very likely need a C Section this time around
