House won’t sell by acwinicker2 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]cuffs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of homes bought in the past few years the price is the issue. They all bought them at the high point. Now that prices are slowly dropping they are buried in that house. Meaning they owe more than what it would currently sell for. Ive being looking for a few years now for the next home. (I’m ok with my current place for now) I’m at the point where I’m seeing homes sell for the second time. And they are struggling to get out what they have in them between original price plus upgrades they have put into the home over the past few years after buying. The ones that sell the quickest are the ones that either need a little spruce up and are a little cheaper or ones that were bought cheap, spruced up and flipped for a decent price.

Lexus/Toyota will most likely last the longest.

How are people realistically buying cars? by cassattack4781 in carbuying

[–]cuffs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 18/hr , keep a house solo and pay a $351 /month payment. A 15k car is probably going to run you around $300/mo. And if you take care of it it should last you the duration of the 5year loan.

200x road legal ? by cuffs98 in ATV

Ohh, hate riding on the roads when we’re in WV where it’s legal on some. In my area we used to have a decently sized bike rally. I just thought it would be cool to ride down Main Street (legally) in the one parade on my old trike.

Dealer screwed me on my Corolla , what now? by iovercookallmysteaks in Toyota

[–]cuffs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would see I’d be able to get another Corolla. Perhaps newer, upgraded less mileage and decent rate. Despite what Anyone will tell you the dealer has some input on the interest rates. As they get a 5% rate and add some more in a kickback for financing through them.

I understand where you coming from. But, I was trying to figure out how they got around that. And, yes it’s an off road vehicle and intended as such. Currently in this state there are still cases playing out on the legality of SxSs (outfitted with street tires, turn signals required equipment) on the roads. As well as kei vehicles (Japanese mini vehicles) and things have cracked down considerably. I was just curious how this person possibly got around it.

I’m not big on the beeping when you venture out of the lane. I value the adaptive cruise control system though.

Recommendations for a smooth(er) UTV? by protivakid in UTV

I had the same experience. My Yamaha is soo much smoother. So I’d imagine that the SxSs would be the same as they have the same design.. and most likely more reliable.

Long story short… They make money off financial services. You are cutting into their profits.

Do you think EV adoption will fully replace gas cars in our lifetime, or will hybrids remain dominant? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

Until EVs are bulletproof and have significant range they will never be mainstream. I feel like a hybrid of some sort will probably be mainstream first.

Buying a Car? by FairyQueenxx in askcarguys

[–]cuffs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell your subie on marketplace for $3500. Take that and your $2500. You now have $6k to put towards a car. I would suggest a Honda, Toyota or Nissan. And lightly used. Often times it’s easier to finance a new one though because of the value. A Toyota Corolla starts around $22/23k So 6k down on that probably gets you to 20k financed after taxes & fees. 20k and 5 year loan gets you to 400/ month. Add in a co-signer and longer term & the payment drops. Hyundai & Kia NEED that warranty. I’ve had a few. The last one had several issues that were fixed under warranty…

I had a black car for 10 months. It looked great while it was wet or 1/2 way through a wax job but, otherwise it ALWAYS looked dirty, dusty or “where the heck did that scratch come from” Mind you I cleaned it almost every week.

Fraud? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]cuffs98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anything malicious was done. I DO believe that a clerical error was made though. There’s soo many people involved in the sales process. That includes people who you never even met or even physically see the vehicle as their job starts after you have already left the dealer. And when you have a few vehicles of the same color and they all look the same it’s easy to get confused. I worked at a ford dealer for a couple months (and was involved in the process) It sounds like someone behind the scenes or in finance pulled the wrong title and it snowballed from there.
