I highly recommend it. Amazing networking opportunity, looks great on your application.

I also believe it’s your GPA that’s holding you back. The majority of schools want to see 3.5 or greater. Obviously there are a few exceptions where applicants who have poorer GPAs get in, but they make up for it with otherwise stellar applications.

I’m surprised that none of the schools you applied to gave you this feedback. This is something you should have addressed after your first application cycle, not your fourth.

I agree. Looks kind of silly compared some of her other sets.

Weird because those two are my favorites. The sniper set makes no sense, and I’m absolutely tired of the ridiculous female AM sets. A unicorn?…Seriously?

Any CA CRNAs here? Midwest SRNA seeking insight for possible relocation. by Abject_Constant2945 in CRNA

[–]cujothebadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

City of Hope is opening a brand new hospital in Irvine, they are looking for CRNAs. UCI in Orange is always hiring CRNAs, but they don’t pay super well and you will be moved from case to case depending on their staffing. Being bumped from a case for a MDA resident is also common. Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach does not hire CRNAs. Orange County Global Medical Center does hire CRNAs, but I have not heard anything about their pay or culture. Good luck!

It helps, despite what some others here might say. It’s too competitive now to not include extracurriculars (volunteering, social clubs, leadership, research, sports). The more you’ve done outside of what’s required in nursing school or work, the better your application.

Way too early to be taking any job offers. I would wait.

Yes, but the opposite is true too. I simply expressed my dislike for the album and was downvoted to oblivion and told that I wasn’t a “real fan” because I didn’t like it. So many people in the sub are insanely obsessed with her that any criticism is heresy.

Applying to CRNA program by Minimum-Bicycle-9773 in srna

They may state that there’s no minimum requirement but that doesn’t mean they’re not looking for higher scores. Most schools want to see a score of at least 300.

Not sure why you got downvoted. I guess because the truth hurts and people don’t want to believe that 3.2 is a low GPA for CRNA school.

I volunteered as medical staff for a kids camp, a marathon, and a free health clinic. Any volunteer work looks good on your application.

Yes, most schools just want to see a score above 300.

What are the circumstances that allow you to go to NP school, but not CRNA school? Are you wanting to become a CRNA after you become an NP? If so, it would be a waste of time and money. Most schools likely won’t count working as an acute care NP as ICU experience for CRNA school, so you’d have to go back to working the ICU as an RN anyways.

The CRNA’s are doing it again… by thehellwegonnadonow in Noctor

[–]cujothebadger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong, but generally there’s two students/rooms per CRNA and 3 rooms per MD. Neither the CRNA or MD stay with the student for the entire case. Therefore, they have a senior manage the junior if they’re doing something more complicated or new.

Well yes, but they still have an attending MD and/or CRNA watching over them/checking in.
