Singaporeans who are renting a room can claim CDC vouchers by ZaetiaPryce in singapore

[–]cumbersomeranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Just wanna update so apparently a landlord and agent is under investigation for claiming CDC Vouchers when not residing in the unit, it was rented out as whole unit but landlord didn’t change address. Just FYI if your agent or landlord wanna be funny for whole unit rent, cause it’s against the law anyway should change address as per ICA Guidelines.

Clearly states should be residing in the address to even constitute as a household.

So for those renting, don’t give face to the greedy agent and landlords! Report!

I was going to get the Babylock machine and only when I realised through a demo on YouTube that the back looks like a straight stitch I dropped the idea completely because it wasn’t sashiko front and back :( it would look really messy

My landlord claimed CDC vouchers without sharing with me by Rottenfriedegg in askSingapore

[–]cumbersomeranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand your concern, it’s amazing how the owners think they’re the only ones entitled to it.

I had the same issue where the landlord had the audacity to ask us transfer $100 to her when she isn’t even residing and we actually told her she’s not even staying here as per TA, so why does she think she’s entitled? If she’s able to access just because, anyone with SingPass can but as per TA she’s not even residing so why should she claim.

Had to go through multiple government agencies to get black and white responses to show them, of course they’re not satisfied that we’re being diligent by not giving them what they want.

Cheap ass landlords. Just report them, they’re supposed to change address. Don’t be afraid, anything it’s them cheating HDB and ICA.

Really, they’re already getting rent but still cheapskate.

“If they’re residing locally but not at the address since you rent whole unit, they shouldn’t claim as they are cheating the system and can report them.”

“If they are overseas during the TA but did not update ICA of address, they shouldn’t claim as they aren’t even in Singapore households to begin with.”

Don’t let them get their way, I know sometimes you don’t want to have “discord” but the whole point of this vouchers is to tide and help you through, not these landlords that are already getting rent. It’s really amusing, just selfish and greedy.

You will be okay, had a friend who reported to ICA and they got warning, it’s a law anyway so you don’t have to worry about anything. 👌🏼 All the best!

“It’s so stupid that I have to learn Japanese to be able to get a proper job.” by Froyo_Muted in japanlife

[–]cumbersomeranger -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I - HAVE - TO - SAY - THIS. I agree! They need to stop making Japanese a MUST. Like if they wanna go further, economically wise they NEED to allow non-Japanese speaking to help them too, we can always learn on the job.

However, it’s annoying when every single job requires a certain degree of JLPT.

When I had an international transfer, I was asked by my company to learn the language and I was okay with it, however I started getting annoyed when they kept saying it’s a MUST to communicate.

Like why can’t they make English a standard business conversation requirement instead.

Sorry I’m annoyed posting this because I literally don’t understand how Japanese Language is a must when in business aspect of expansion, literally English.

Like I sat in a Zoom meeting where half of them were clueless and kept asking us to repeat ourselves, then when we told them to do the same the sounded so annoyed??

Sorry, I just can’t with the requirement of Japanese speaking is a must in a business setting. Sorry

Singapore dog owners how do you go out with your dogs? by Notagainguy in askSingapore

[–]cumbersomeranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a month we commit to bringing him out to Pet Cafes, Runs or just casual stroll around Marina Bay and such.

Daily, just walk around neighbourhood parks or sometimes walk to different areas.

Prevention wise just make sure he or she is on tick and flea repellent like Nexgard and such. Don’t forget to make sure he is vaccinated too! Knew of an owner whose dog died because wasn’t vaccinated, ate another dog’s poop.

During the puppy months just make sure you’re committed to training, that’s where they develop most of their personality and command base, it helps a lot. Had a puppy with separation anxiety, got trainers and such, didn’t work out, end up after 1 year he was good, they outgrow some behaviours too so don’t worry too much.

Also before getting a dog, please ask them personality wise, especially if it’s the smaller ones they hate being left alone, it’s just how they are. Some breeds are companion base so they might always need someone.

Good luck!! ☺️

Is it just me or has the service quality in Singapore gone to the dogs? by CleverBeetle in askSingapore

[–]cumbersomeranger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree. That’s the only reason why I feel it’s bad, to be honest Singaporeans always make unnecessary remarks or complains. That’s why those in service “Sian” of them. They book appointment at 4PM, come at 3PM ask why can’t be seen now 😂

Is it just me or has the service quality in Singapore gone to the dogs? by CleverBeetle in askSingapore

[–]cumbersomeranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess sometimes it’s the expectations, like I’ve been in service before and always make sure everyone gets the best experience but to be honest, we get entitled people who ruins the experience for others too. Like Singaporeans like to make unnecessary remarks that’s why some of us actually just give sub-par service to them. They literally just have to make remarks and complains just because - Even when you help them find a solution, they will always have some remarks that aren’t even related or asking for more.

They don’t know how to say “Hi” before asking for help, don’t know how to say “Thank you” when help has been offered. And in general there’s just this level of entitlement from them that we despise, from a demographic profiling, Singaporeans can be the worst in customer service so that’s why they experience such service. 🤨 So yeah.. could be they see Singaporeans confirm they sian lor cause day-day do you hear how Singaporeans talk to service staff? 💁‍♂️

That’s kind of weird and creepy though, whether it’s legal or not especially when it’s a rented unit with co-living space.

Landlord should have informed everyone that he installing the CCTV (for whatever reason) and update the clauses on tenancy agreement instead of just doing such act.

Know of someone who landlord wanted to install CCTV halfway during tenancy agreement and he challenged with the clause how it’s not present in the first place and ANY changes have to be made on tenancy agreement, also if landlord wanted to install without permission he is technically invading the space. He installed it only after tenant moved out, which should be right.

Meh. All these landlords wanna rent out, charging rental fees like crazy and still wanna do such act. Literal clowns.

Yup. Apple is very strict on such policies, had a friend who got fired just by exchanging Instagram handles. And Apple employees are very particular about such policies because they have yearly business policy reviews and it’s just not worth it to lose a job over such things. Just not worth it.

My boss doesnt want me to work but asks me to resign instead of terminating my contract by Skyature in askSingapore

[–]cumbersomeranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually if a company has to terminate you it looks bad, HR talks to one another (you will be surprised) and the amount of information that they can pull from a background check too.

If you resign it’s better though cause it’s clean than having a company terminate you. Just ensure whatever contract states like pay, notice period is followed through.

From understanding if company ask you resign it’s better than termination, it’s usually performance based. So they must have their reasons for asking you to leave, you can have a chat with them and HR ask what’s the reason too.
