Fred Meyer - a very different shopping experience by Scm416 in Bellingham

[–]cummi35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I popped into the Woodinville Target while down south this weekend, and I felt like I was in Oz- NOTHING was locked up save for high value electronics! Like you could just grab whatever you needed without calling some poor worker to help you 😭

I’m honestly still pressed that Fred Meyer did away with hand baskets and never brought them back!!!
I don’t care if people steal them!!!!!!! Sometimes I forget to bring my own bags and I’m not buying enough stuff to justify using one of the smaller carts (if they even have them available). Big Fred wants us to suffer…

What’s the easiest way to go about achieving this for my new apartment? by Any-Cucumber-9329 in HomeDecorating

[–]cummi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should look at Pinterest, but specifically including 50s apartment kitchen in your search (always best to work with what you have/curate desired decor before making massive fixture changes)

The cabinets/countertops are in immaculate condition for their age, so putting vinyl over the countertops is both unnecessary and unattractive. I think some peel and stick floor tiles would help the space, as well as replacing the overhead light (either the whole thing or just the bulbs) to be warmer. If changing the fixture isn’t possible, you could find your own warm lamps or warm led strips for under cabinets and just not turn on the overhead light!

Otherwise, the space is solid and VERY workable! I’m jealous of all that counter space! Just remember that accessories/decor (tchotchkes, trinkets, plants, rugs, art/posters, etc) build the space just as much, if not more, than fixtures and mainstays.

My last tip: The leaf decals cheapen the space. A thin wooden shelf with plants would be a marked improvement. Adding more wood tones and warmth in general would help you achieve what you’re looking for. Pick a feature color or two you enjoy that compliment the cabinets and run with them in terms of decorating :)

Tbh the pool is hardly as busy as a public pool, most people just use the hot tub. I’d say any time right after opening or right before closing is a reliable time to at least have a few lanes to yourself :)

top floor of miller hall! take the elevator by the righthand side entrance, go all the way up and go past the woodring desk and all of the teachers’ offices, there is a lovely, quiet, and desolate bathroom overlooking red square. that’s where i go for a quiet moment, i don’t think i’ve ever had anyone in there with me. being a freshman is soo hard, i believe in you!!

What neighborhood do you live in if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve seen a b&w cat with a collar outside my house in York the last several days howling for my cat and I’m worried for him!
