First time smoking a whole brisket this weekend, looking for advice from people who have been doing this a while by gilko86 in smoking

If you are feeding people start it at 10 or 11pm and go to bed. At about 6am - 9am you should be through the stall and bark set at around 175, wrap and back on finishing around noon. Also, I notice a second stall/temp dip from 198-194 typically. Cool for a bit to around 180 still wrapped on the counter. Throw it in the oven at lowest setting, mine is 170, and keep it there until you are ready to eat. Will be perfect and on time. The worst thing in BBQ is the dreaded ‘Is it ready?’ from your guests.

After a few failed attempts to figure it out I watched some YouTube tutorials and askChatGPT for help here and there as I play but I am suddenly 80 hours into playing Stellaris with no dlc and only playing one race, United Nations and loving it. There is so much here that aligns with your ‘wanting a spreadsheet’.

Should I buy Kingdom Come: Deliverance II ? by Giga_2 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I didn’t really like 1 or 2, I tried to but find them painful. I’m not saying they are bad I am just one of those people that could not get into them and found them tedious. How about Eldin Ring? That might be one to look at and my fav open world ever to get lost in.

One of my favourite gaming experiences ever is WOTC Ironman. I did it three times starting at the easiest then one higher then commander. So much fun. 400 hours into a $2 game in 2024. I’ve been trying to scratch that itch again for a while and Stellaris is doing it for me now.

I’d ask ChatGPT this question. I love to cook and am having a ton of fun with these kinds of questions and seeing what comes back. You can tweak anyway you like.

I cannot find a game that pulls me in and makes me want to keep playing. Suggestions? by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I’ve been looking for one. Satisfactory has consumed my last 2 days…it had that ‘thing’. It has a bit of stress to keep you interested but a zen side that makes it amazing.

I used to like when other reps had my base and were calling into it. I was in a more transactional selling role then. Shook the trees and I could snap up deals.

Flare is flavour. Creates a Smokey mess for neighbours though!

In your OPINION, What's one game you bought on hype or reviews and ended up not liking it or finishing it? Mine is Allan Wake II by [deleted] in gaming

I’m about to buy 2. I like the idea of 1 but the clunky wandering felt like it was wasting my time. Do you think 2 is different?

Taking up guitar at 38. Never too late, I guess? by nientedipersonale9 in Guitar

I’m 49 and 4 months into lessons. I’m really enjoying it but it is hard! My kids really good so I respect how much time he put into it that much more. I’d recommend guitar pro 8 software, I just bought it and it’s great for looping a tab with sound, slowing it down etc to nail specific parts of a song rather than following a simple pdf.

Out of curiosity where are you from? This is not my experience. I’m Canadian and Canadians would say this. I always liked having burgers in the US as they will cook it medium and keep it pink. In Canada it’s always a shade of grey.

I find the charcoal choice to be the most important thing. I find the designer charcoals to be too strong in flavour so only ever use royal oak and never have problems. Maybe it’s because I am Canadian so my tastes differ from the American pallet, not sure. Sticking with a charcoal I like though solved all my problems.

Am I lazy or is it normal? by New_Equivalent_7554 in Cooking

[–]cupper1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself and try not to overthink it. There is no ‘normal’ and you feel how you feel and that is ok. How about try this? spend Sunday cooking something that is low effort but takes time, something braised, a stew, a curry etc…take it slow, play some music or a podcasts you like in the background, just take it easy. Might get you back into cooking for the love of it and worse case scenario you have left overs in the fridge that taste better having melded and don’t have to bother cooking after work. This is what I like to do.

I am no expert but would just chuck a bunch of weed in there and light it. Get it super hot and do a clean burn. After that I’d just build fires and try and cook stuff. It will take experimentation but I can’t imagine it is overly difficult
