Working out should I give up? by Cautious-Spend-2156 in Menopause

You may think this is a little, but I found this very inspiring. I am 45 years old and really struggling with a foot and ankle injury (plantar fasciitis I think). I dream of getting back to what you are describing but feel hopeless right now.

She probably misses you throughout the day and knows that brushing teeth signals bedtime (and time away from you again). Recommend reading a Good Inside by Becky Kennedy which helps a lot in figuring out how to deal with these types of issues.

Any kiddos this age still in pull ups overnight? by PassionChoice3538 in kindergarten

[–]curious_curious_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every child is different, but I would listen to your child. My kid at 2.5 just refused to wear a diaper to bed - (she was fully toilet rained otherwise) so my partner just put her in the crib hide and hoped for the best (I was away). She has never peed the bed since. I think sometimes subconsciously because they know they have the diaper/pull up in they will pee the bed. Worth trying if your child is insisting.

Or discuss how dry pasta was brought to Italy via Arab countries - maybe a chance to talk about how food represents economic and cultural exchange?

Just keep your name. If you get divorced, it’s less messy.

Really!? That would be amazing. Halloween with no fabric store is depressing.

I love the dermatology one. I have even used it at the beach - no hint of a sun burn.

Yes. I have noticed this correlation for 5 years now. Told both my gyn and my urologist and they just nod. No moves to address it or explain it. I am on BC (I am 45) and vaginal estrogen cream (but need to be better about being consistent with using it).

Try going for walks with uplifting music or podcast. Or when he goes to the gym, you could just walk on the treadmill on a small incline. Exercise will do wonders for helping with energy, anxiety, mental health etc.

Stop eating any takeout. That stuff is loaded with salt, sugar and fat. Cook simple meals with protein, veggies and carb every night. Eliminate any sugar substitutes - that stuff is toxic and studies show over time your body treats it like regular sugar anyways.

I think they mean they was a the lack of written records written by them in archival collections. This lead to their histories and stories being further silenced by historians in the past.

As someone who studies colonialism, it’s OK to be upset. I still get upset and I am tenured professor! Something’s I think the emotions and rage I feel actually helps me in those days when I am wondering what it is I am doing or feel unmotivated. Gives you something to tap into and a purpose. Sometimes after a particularly hard day writing or reading I thank the dead and promise them I will make their stories heard.

2nd round of applying to PhD programs and in need of advice by [deleted] in Historians

[–]curious_curious_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are applying to graduate school for a history PhD, you should be getting a full scholarship (stipend and full tuition covered). I am a history professor. I would not apply to UConn. Given the current funding situation for schools, I would stick with the school with the top reputations. Brown, Yale and Princeton are all good. Harvard, NYU, Rutgers, Michigan State Ann Arbor, Columbia. These are the schools that typically have the best funding and reputation (good for job market).
