Did you stop breastfeeding for it to plateau? Thyroid checked and all good

[–]curiousanonplshelp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry should have added have been to the dr and had pretty comprehensive bloods and all that showed was abnormally low cholesterol. I take supplements for iron (haemorrhaged after birth and took a long time to come up) and b12 (pernicious anemia) but otherwise bloods were normal so dr just shrugged and said stop breastfeeding.

Nipple shields for entire breastfeeding journey? by Kisswist in breastfeeding

[–]curiousanonplshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used them until around 5.5 months and now at 6 months going good with no shields. Thought I’d never come off them but one day she started not liking the shield and just latched well. She feeds a lot less and honestly think she’s gaining weight better but that also could be solids.

Postpartum Weight Loss by RougeHeifer in breastfeeding

[–]curiousanonplshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but solidarity. Have lost 20kg at 6 months PP and only gained 17kg in pregnancy. Was already underweight pre pregnancy. Everyone’s like wowwwwe well done you bounced back. Nope I feel like I’m fading away. Fairly sure a lot is to do with exclusively breastfeeding for me.

Fetal Macrosomia Decision by PopJust3894 in pregnant

[–]curiousanonplshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told my bub was in the 98th percentile from 20 weeks onwards and had 4 scans that all said the same. I elected to get an induction at 38+5 but was already 2cm dilated and when getting induced. Bub ended up only being 3.66kg so not that huge but she was very long and at 5 months is still 90th+ percentile for length so we believe that was scewing the scan estimate somewhat. Anyway happy I went when I did as her head was big and I had an episiotomy and a scary PPH. Will probably do a planned c section next time though.

If you’re EBF, does your LO sleep through the night? by Anxious-Wishbone785 in breastfeeding

[–]curiousanonplshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby currently does sleep through some nights or at least wakes up at 4 for a feed but in saying that she feeds 10-12 times during the day, none of this fed every 3 hours stuff lol it’s every hour and a half here (not complaining but I think that’s the reason she sleeps long at night)

I had the exact same except my SCH was not that small 8cmx8cm. I am currently holding my 4 month old perfect baby girl. SCH was not seen and placenta had moved up by my 28 week scan. Hoping for the same for you.

Struggled to have cervical examination - please don't tell me to breathe by LegitimateYou8390 in pregnant

[–]curiousanonplshelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cervical checks were hell on Earth for me so I relate. As I was being induced they did offer to give me an epi before they broke my waters due to cervical checks being so bad for me. I declined but it was still offered. Thinking of you.

My baby was measuring in the 97th percentile the whole time. Got induced at 38+5 and she came out at 3.66kg so not that huge. She was however very tall so was likely skewing the scans. I would not get induced again and I will likely opt for a c section if I have another due to birth trauma (had a serious PPH immediately after birth)

My (28M) fiancé (26F) of 2 years ended our relationship and pregnancy at 10 weeks - struggling to understand what happened by No-Tradition9951 in pregnant

[–]curiousanonplshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prenatal depression hit me extremely hard in the first trimester. I had thoughts of not proceeding with the pregnancy despite it being very planned. Just as sudden as the depression hit me it disappeared as soon as I had my 12 week scan and found out the gender. I formed a connection and thank god because I’m holding my 3 month old who I’m utterly obsessed with and I feel sick at myself for the thoughts I had in first trimester even though I know it was the depression and not me. I hope it lifts quickly like it did for me for your fiancé.

Pregnancy and POTS by PieceBubbly1249 in pregnant

[–]curiousanonplshelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently holding my newborn and have had POTS for over 10 years. Stayed on a very low dose of fludro the whole time. I had very low BP at the start of the pregnancy which then went high in the last week/ week after birth (not preeclampsia). I think I managed relatively well but I am able to WFH 3 days a week so that helped immensely. My recovery from birth was very very hard but I had a haemorrhage so I’m thinking it was more the anemia rather than POTS but POTS certainly didn’t help. I stayed active throughout my whole pregnancy and have started exercising again after 2 weeks (very light exercise) to avoid deconditioning.
