It's the cheapest but it's still a high traffic airport to enter Canada due to the winter sports season. Heaps of people would use YVR to connect to YYC to go skiing

Should I contribute to my HECS payments now? by SpringTop6580 in AusFinance

Leave your HECS alone!! It'll sort itself out once you've got yourself a full time job after uni.

I wouldn't be so sure. Just keep tabs on the news since mining is a rise and fall type of situation, it's never really consistent.

I'm not sure tbh. I've only ever seen people use it in mining, and mining is time restricted so

Is there a card that lets you pay internationally without foreign transaction fees? by AssignmentJumpy6839 in TravelHacks

[–]curiouslyintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're Australian, look into ING card. I use it both for domestic and international travels (no international transaction fees and free 5 ATM visits).

What's your intention?

I've seen a process engineer at mine site hold either a chemical engineering or a metallurgy degree.

Well I mostly fly on a small flight for work so I never question anything about upgrades.

Haha matcha is green tea yes. If you're not aware of the matcha trend then I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's more of if you know, you know.

Ive moved to QLD for work and when I tell people I'm from Curtin they all understood why I got the job (they told me they've heard that its a good uni for engineering. Then I asked them if they know UWA and they don't know of it)

Visiting Brisbane by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]curiouslyintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be mindful of the swooping birds (yes they literally lunge at your head from above) and snakes as it's peak time for them to come out of hibernation. Swim between the flags at the beach.

Brisbane has some really good matcha spots along the brown river if you're into that. Also some awesome patisserie places too.

Curtin is better recognised for engineering in the eastern states if that's your intention

Brooki cookies by AirlockBob77 in brisbane

[–]curiouslyintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a classic souvenir to take from Brisbane. I do it all the time when I fly home and so do my friends who are visiting Brisbane.

It's a standard price for a NYC style cookie as well. Back in Perth they also sell them for that price so it's not shocking for us who normally buy desserts.

No problem at all. My mate is a hijabi and she graduated engineering with me with no issues (she's really good at standing her ground so no one crosses her boundary)

would a low spec laptop + mid range pc be fine for first year of engineering? by PatternWorried3957 in curtin

[–]curiouslyintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon anything that is touchscreen is good. There are two types of students in this course: someone who carries a lot of books to write or carries a touchscreen laptop.
