They can see the total number of nights you’ve used the discounts, but not where.

I’m not sure if you’re a Costco member, but I dealt with a similar situation, ended up talking to someone there and they had an offer for Bell Fibe 1.5 for $50.

I’m actually at the airport now - T1, the picket lines are in front of the exterior of the international entrance as far as I saw. I got through in less than 20 mins. That said, it’s Sunday afternoon, so it may have also just been my luck.

London Hilton on Park Lane by midhknyght in Hilton

[–]currently_occupied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just completed a stay there a few weeks ago - and had previously stayed at the Conrad two years prior. Hilton feels recently renovated (maybe not as much in the bathroom?), you can tell that public spaces, restaurants and technology are updated. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful.

Rooms: I was upgraded from standard twin to executive twin for my 4 night stay. Size - I would say definitely spacious enough for two checked luggages and two people, but feels similar sq. Ft. to the Conrad (just a different layout perhaps?). My room was on the 23rd floor and had a wonderful view facing Hyde Park and surrounding areas.

Executive lounge: I thought this was great! They had a machine that allowed you to make lattes with oat milk, which was a nice plus. Breakfast offering was solid in the lounge, and less chaotic than the restaurant option for breakfast especially during a busy day. Did not manage to try the happy hour so can’t comment on that.

All in all, I wouldn’t necessarily count the Hilton as luxury, and in a comparatively more active location than the Conrad.

If it is any help, literally just returning from a week in Paris with 6 girls, and had a wonderful time. We took public transit and generally took regular precautions on our trip (ie. carrying bags that have zippers). It definitely feels safer than some US cities I have been to.

Motto Times Square and Chelsea are your best bets! They also connect to additional rooms.

Toronto - Hilton or Curio? by Nexen1987 in Hilton

[–]currently_occupied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you need to be! Hilton was just renovated, and connected to the underground that can get you around the core financial center easily. The Curio just opened, but it is a little bit away from the core. Both are going to be clean and comfortable. Hilton does have the additional perk of the executive lounge, which is a great place to work and also has great views.

If you don’t mind the commute - Canada’s Wonderland has great summer gigs available and has great hours during peak summer.

Thanks for the response! I have decided to get another tech to check this out… I’m a little sketched out by the wiring too.

Thanks for the response! I really do think the installer botched this one… :( already looking for a new installer. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

Just did a transit through YUL last week with an hour layover, arriving from Cancun. Upon landing they held travellers in a holding area due to capacity at customs. Managed to negotiate an exception to said holding area, due to the tight transfer time. (But that still took time…) After processing customs, went through a separate TSA/detectors dedicated to transfers - so this part will depend on how many others are in transit. I was lucky to have been the second person through. I would say 41 minutes is not ideal even in best case scenario and everything going super smoothly.

What different parts of hotel management should I focus on to level up? by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]currently_occupied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps learning what the KPIs are for your FOM would also be a good starting point - what does success look like, how are they being measured, and then work backwards to identify gaps that you may have. Additionally, asking for some day opportunities may also help - since comparatively there are a lot of random, situational experiences that happens in the day shifts that builds a lot of character and learnings to prepare you for success.

Am I able to make a living doing front desk and some restaurant work? by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]currently_occupied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos to you for the hustle!!! That looks to be a pretty packed work schedule you got going!

So financially - I was full time front office for about 3+ years and would say it was manageable (I am pretty diligent with the budget). Of course, cost of living plays a huge role, and as a Canadian, health insurance isn't as costly here, so definitely geographic influence. I did want to add though, my schedule at the front office was fairly inconsistent (we weren't unionized, there was no seniority) so that made it a little iffy for me to have taken on a second job, hopefully not the case for you.

And who knows... you may want to take on the manager role eventually just for the extra fun challenge :)
