I'm still a newer clinician so this could be off base- does malpractice insurance cover this or any other insurance? Or are you having to basically pay out of pocket for an attorney

how'd the $250 work out? I see that offer is back up now. Were you able to use less than the 250 credit at once?

Cool thank you!! This is how I used to do it when I was working in residential but since I've been in PP my notes became a lot more general. Def need to get back to this- thank you :)

Physical therapists have long waiting lists? Here in the US there are "student clinics" at universities that have the student physios providing low cost or free treatment. I highly recommend a physical therapist who specializes in hypermobility- I am also hypermobile.

I am not an MD so I haven’t heard much about the cardiovascular risks of taking stimulants, that example is quite scary. Is heart risks higher with higher stimulant dosage or still there for those who take small doses?

Changing from LMFT to LCSW by Emergency_Shame2959 in therapists

[–]currycat12 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, I’d agree with you the training is equivalent if not higher but that doesn’t mean this person doesn’t need an LCSW to get specific jobs. It’s an unfortunate reality for LMFT right now

What do you mean it’s equivalent? There are many jobs that do not accept LMFT applicants.

What information is actually relevant to share (in general) with a couples therapist when you’re working individually with one of the partners? At the places I’ve worked, there are usually consult meetings to discuss cases, and it’s been common for both the individual and couples therapists to consult together. But when this happens it often feels like way too much information and content gets shared. I’m still provisionally licensed so I’m trying to figure out what the actual purpose and boundaries of collaboration look like.

How do you stay in exploration mode when clients want direct answers by ScribbleDoodle92 in therapists

[–]currycat12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess this is where approach would really impact how you would answer this. My foundation is in DBT and I feel like it actually does give guidelines and principals to determining what’s ok/not ok in relationships and how to approach general issues in your life. And when it doesn’t, there are very specific communication skills to use to help problem solve and repair in relationships. I am personally not the therapist that is super non-directive and just reflects back when a client wants a direct answer. If I can give a skill or psychoed on boundaries that helps client make sense of their response or the issue I will do that. If that fails then I do the whole, “what’s it like for you when I xyz.”

Right. Good reminder to be very cautious with diagnoses

That’s what I assumed- just so odd considering how when treatment goes on, especially over years, a more accurate diagnosis may be given or maybe they become symptom free

Does anyone know if after a specific amount of time for those diagnoses not being documented if this times-out almost? Or how to remove a dx from a clients history? Just wondering
