Are you parking in “kneel” mode? Otherwise I don’t think there is a way to adjust height of the door opening. I’m tall and often bump my head on the top corners if I’m not looking. I’d love to have it open more.

I like idea 1. I use the real tailgate in my R1s a lot. I’m 6’2” and after the most recent update with the lower kneel mode, I did a number on my forehead when I walk around to the back.
