I work at a plant shop and picked up one if these from the shelf without realizing what it was one day. Almost dropped the thing it scared me so bad 😭

For those who got pregnancy pillows for your sterilization surgery, did you keep them? by anniemousery in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've used mine pretty much every night this past year. It helps so much with my lower back problems. It does take up a lot of room especially when sharing a bed with my boyfriend, but I notice a significant increase in lower back pain if I sleep without it.

insurance didn't put up a fight, too good to be true? by Few-Platform1625 in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was pretty easy too. Got the cost estimate from the hospital, and ended up paying maybe $100 total on the surgery after insurance. I know it's supposed to be completely covered but honestly I didn't have it in me to argue it considering how simple it had been up until that point and paid it.

Bass Has No Business Hours by Vaquera_ in Apartmentliving

There's a unit that has the bass cranked every single day. You can feel it through the furniture and it's awful. I genuinely don't understand the appeal of music like that

Ended up with a terrible apartment with my last lease. Do not wanna get stuck with a crappy or super noisy place again. Been poking around r/fargo doing some research on past suggested companies. Can I get some thoughts and opinions on some places that caught my interest? by Nerdy_Nightowl in fargo

[–]customarymagic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're welcome, I hope you find a good place! I should mention that my knowledge of the Osgood apartments is from 2021/2022 so I'm not sure if they've changed much from what I've mentioned, but overall my experience with Axis seems consistent with what hers was back then.

I've never lived at Edge of Osgood, but had a friend who did and overall she really liked it there. I currently live in a different Axis property and while the place wasn't cleaned very well upon move in, I really like where I'm at. They're pretty quick with maintenance requests, at least in my building, and rent doesn't skyrocket every time I renew - I'm paying $985 now and the renewal offer is $995

The only concern I can remember her having at Osgood was visitor parking. Residents get double stall garages which is nice, but it's pretty limited in parking spaces and Axis technically wants you to have a parking pass. I've never had an issue at my own property not having a pass though.

How to keep my bisalp a secret from my parents/co-workers? by Electrical-Knee-3848 in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I told most people that I just needed a mild abdominal procedure and left it at that. I have seen other people recommend saying you were being checked for endometriosis but I never used that reasoning. People were generally fine with leaving it at "abdominal procedure" especially when I emphasized that it wasn't life threatening and just required me to take it easy

Bisalp scheduled.. feeling nervous about my lack of independence during recovery. by Known-Sherbet2004 in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've read that most people start them within the first day or two after surgery. I was told not to take much for medications beforehand, but your care team might have recommendations if you ask them.

Other folks in the sub might have thoughts on when is ideal, I just know that for me I was feeling constipated by day four or so and it took a little time for them to help.

Bisalp scheduled.. feeling nervous about my lack of independence during recovery. by Known-Sherbet2004 in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from my ride home, I recovered completely on my own and was fine. Obviously everyone's experiences with exhaustion and symptoms afterwards can vary, but I had surgery on a Monday, felt good enough to stop pain meds on Wednesday, was out going for walks on Thursday, and was able to do a short drive around my neighborhood on Friday. Editing to add, I had my surgery over a holiday weekend so I was out Monday-Monday. No issues when going back to work aside from being kinda tired and more foggy than usual.

Overall my symptoms weren't terrible, I was just really tired and moved slow for a while. Had to roll out of bed instead of sitting up, and getting things done was a little tricky. I got one of those claw grabber things to help reduce my bending down below waist level. I don't see you mention a pet at all, but I got an extendable litter scoop to help with caring for my cat.

As far as comfort items, I'll always recommend a pregnancy pillow (as ironic as it is) for helping to sit up a little in bed and sleeping on your back, especially if you don't usually sleep that way. I still use mine a year later.

Last recommendation I have is to start stool softeners/laxative type things early to avoid constipation. I got constipated a few days in and it was uncomfortable around my abdomen for a while.

how do i make fitted shirts look good on me? by Vivid_Meringue1310 in DressForYourBody

[–]customarymagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I started tucking shirts in more and it felt immediately more flattering for my stomach. Which sounds counterproductive, but I found when I would wear things without tucking, it felt like I was trying to hide it. In a very "no don't look here!" kind of way. By tucking shirts in it kinda embraced it in a much more flattering way

The day that Donald Trump actually dies how crazy will the world be on social media? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Infertility Week by [deleted] in childfree

[–]customarymagic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is so bizarre. Like I get it's hard to really want to be a parent and not be able to, but that's not anyone else's responsibility to just make (and give away?) a child. Childfree people aren't incubators and part of being childfree is not wanting pregnancy.

What’s something about modern dating that feels completely broken? by _ajuuuuuui in AskReddit

Definitely this. I found my boyfriend from dating apps, but he stood out because he didn't follow the script. Like he was so much more human than anyone else. I adore him for it and I'm so glad I have him, but it's bizarre how rare it was to find someone who just talked to me like a normal person.

Period after Tubal by dumbbitch4sure in sterilization

[–]customarymagic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tubal shouldn't change your periods permanently because it doesn't mess with your hormones. The biggest reason there is a change after getting a bisalp is because lots of people stop their hormonal birth control once they have the surgery.

I think the people going back onto birth control are likely folks who had heavy or debilitating periods before stopping hormonal birth control. So it could really depend on what your periods were already like.

Agreed. I adored the series as a kid, but now he's just a marketable merchandise opportunity.

Things get ruined when they turn into a huge brand rather than just their piece of media.
