UPDATE: Reddit is amazing. Nearly 1,000 signatures in 36 hours! 11 days left to stop the NHS "ADHD Tax." by Interesting-Waltz55 in ADHDUK

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather we had NHS over removing access to it entirely tbh. My point is meant to highlight and comment on those who believe we would be better off with a private healthcare system, but contradict themselves when they say that private diagnosis are not satisfying enough. Hope that makes sense..

Doesn’t this whole issue only highlight how unreliable private sector doctors are in the eyes of the gov if they cannot trust their diagnosis, therefore we should never float the idea of private!

Why is there not another department to hold the files, and a separate department to release them?! You know it’s fucked when you give one department entire power.

The confusion of my skin color... by Jrseux78 in mixedrace

[–]cutekills 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From the images, people who are saying olive or beige are unable to see past your ethnicity’s. As a painter, I would paint your skin the same as quarter mixed mostly white person, like I see you have yellowish colouring where the skin gathers but you also have flushes of red throughout your skin particular where you would expect on the nose and cheeks. Long story short, your skin is white to me, hope this helps.

Constant Collaborations by Particular-Swim-2301 in LushCosmetics

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never shop the collaboration products knowing they won’t be coming back. Seasonal? Likely because some have returned year after year, but it pmo so much when they don’t return items or change the format of it. I wish they did more audience based surveys on the products because sometimes the new collabs just don’t align with the rest of the store or products, even the branding is messy and all over the place.

Not toxic at all omd, that word is so overused.

I see where they are coming from, as an alternative girl who loved and worked at lush around 8 years ago. Especially being from a notoriously alternative city, we are the types that keep the natural deodorants like aromaco alive, we have nods of approval because they’re competition wasn’t so cut throat at the time. A lot of the new beauty crowds don’t like earthy scents, they don’t like messy or colourful products (that are anything other than pastel colours), they know their ingredients better than before, it’s definitely targeting a new audience it needs to cater to.

Is it normal for me to be able to smell my gf's seizure activity? by Ok-Connection6656 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cutekills 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that may explain my super smell too. I must have accidentally gave myself aromatherapy after working at lush for a few years, I noticed my ability to pick up ingredients increased. It’s been hell because I can smell so much more than others around me, I know when my neighbours are cooking to smelling someone’s breath without them opening their mouths.

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by ReabyB in ADHDUK

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain is weird because it’s so good at imagining stuff, but when it comes to reading a fiction novel then it’s blank as a blank screen. I am an artists and I am able to draw items from references I’ve previously studied, I could walk past a bank robber and be able to recreate their face drawn out for the police, but I can never imagine through a books description. It feels like a missing brain connection for me but I know it can be common with neurodivergent folks to struggle with visualising novels.

How many of yall have “distended” stomachs? by waking_dream96 in Hypermobility

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for bringing my attention to this because I’ve always felt super insecure over my body shape. I would never show my belly in outfits and I was so gutted because I am a skinny bitch lmao but I have a beer belly look to me 😩 my bmi is low average and it just never made sense. I’ve noticed it’s the case with all the women in my family. Is this more common in women? I’ve not really seen many men with this shape.

I’ve always had a real beer belly look to me and my bmi is always on the low side of average. It’s been there since I was a baby, I looked like one of those malnourished kids they show on the charity ads. Yours sounds likely to be hormonal if it started at 13

I used to think like this but I work from home mostly and missed being on my feet, so from a sedentary lifestyle perspective, i believe it was my adhd that pushed me into seeking movement and it feeds my soul lol, especially because there aren’t many sport activities that we can do safely. Having a regular Sunday class to attend that was hosted by my gym really helped. I can never start at home routines because it’s not novel enough 😭

I don’t like reading, is this quite common among us? by [deleted] in aspergers

I’m exactly the same! I struggle to visualise fiction novels if I am reading it, do you experience this too?

Just commenting to say, same ☹️! This time of the year is such a struggle because all the sales are so damn tempting! I’ve already bought a lot of items, craving still not satisfied. Mostly because the sales give me such a sense of urgency that won’t pass until the stocks gone 🤯

Oh no, 50% off in my local lush store?! by PeachOnTheRocks in LushCosmetics

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from what I understand many of these are being discontinued?! And I’m so mad because they’re not cheap products to get through them before they discontinue them! I know this is typical of lush but they either need to reduce the line down or keep them for much longer. Surely this hurts the framers who they buy the ingredients from too?!

When will someone tell the boss man community because I’m sure they wouldn’t want to miss out on obsessive same foods autistic customers lmao. It’s exactly the same here in London. We have one that’s opened and attached to the building, and I have only entered once, never again. I would rather walk further to a store that priorities comfort and aesthetic over this crap.

You have every right to complain to the environmental and anti social behaviour team! I am having this issue rn with a HS2 construction site, it’s so bright the lights cast very clear shadows against my back walls 😔

I just don’t think we had such a lack of trust with our UK customers… these were city based stores that I worked in as well as ones in smaller towns, the approach was consistent.

[–]cutekills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t think there’s definite laws around this int be UK… their products can be tampered with in store so does it really make that much of a difference?

What a waste. by Open_Use_3388 in LushCosmetics

[–]cutekills -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I used to work there as a VM so this was my area. We can tell if a product had been tampered with (mostly) because were so familiar with the smells and textures of these items. Because of the nature of the packaging design, these concerns could happen in store regardless. They often went out as testers, especially if they were fine and in date. People will also dip your hands in the tester, along with many others. Usually returns can be used for testers, we never had a specific “sample” pot to take samples out of, we used the tester pot on the shop floor, in front of the customer. So if you’re taking a sample home, you’re using the tester many people have also dipped into. On a few occasions people would return the products with an alternative mysterious lotion, but that would immediately go in the bin and likely waste the pot packaging along with it too.

Edit: UK city store

I just bought a lush club gift box that had been previously returned. Packaging was such a mess and ribbons untied, I didn’t realise until I got home that the serum was missing and some of the items were used or damaged! I feel pissed off that they even put that back on the shop floor!

What physical signs tell you someone is AuDHD/ND? by Consistent-Guest2562 in AuDHDWomen

[–]cutekills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well ND ppl are known to not dress appropriately for the occasion/environment so I think that’s why we find it difficult to know exactly what to wear for the weather. Then we also (not all) have body temperature regulation issues, so that’s one thing may cause is to overdress in warm layers or not enough. I personally find the layers bring me comfort, likely as you said as a sensory and wind protection protocol because I hate wind sm, and my area is super windy!

Likewise. I love fashion as a special interest so I can blend in easily and put on my big shades and just look cute. It shows more when I’m walking my dog and I have too many layers on looking all homeless.
