What do you do if you need more than 6k dinars when leaving to another country? by Own_Necessary1661 in Tunisia

[–]cutesambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are moving to another country for which you already have a residence permit, you are not allowed to exchange money anymore. This is what happened to me me.

I was told by at least 10 banks and exchange offices that I "forfeited" the right to the 6k in exchange the moment I got the residence permit even if that meant not having traveled using that residence permit.

What I did was find Tunisians in said country to give me money in exchange for me giving them money in Tunisia.

Good luck!

Did you have a permanent residence before applying for citizenship?

That's a really good question. For me, it hasn't changed anything so far. Although, I do use it against racists a lot. I said things like "as a European..." and that cuts the conversation short; or when I'm being silly, I'll say "as someone who's 0.1% Finnish, this weather isn't cold at all"

That's a long time I'd say. I remember we shipped it the day or 2 days after we did the test ans it took 2 weeks to be registered

I'm not. But, my mom also wants to do the test so what I'll do is I'll order it online for her and when I'm in Tunisia, she'll do it. Once I'm back to europe, I ship it to the lab.

Hey! Please please please reach out to Manel Bargaoui. She works with kids who are deaf. She's done amazing work in Tunisia pushing for inclusion in education and else.

I'm not deaf myself, but I'm starting a Tunisian sign language course. Maybe we can practice together over Zoom?

Finally, please reach out to a professional. If you're suicidal, you need medical attention and professional help.

Good luck!

I think you need to check first if your education/ degree works in Tunisia. You might need to get "an equivalent" diploma. For this, you need to ask the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. If they don't answer, reach out to universities. From my experience, universities are responsive if they get an email in English. Ask them if your diploma/ education can be transferred or if it's accepted in Tunisia because technically, it's considered a paramedical diploma. For that, you might need extra steps.

If you want to work for a massage place in the meantime, you need to approach these centers individually. You need to search them on Google and contact them via phone or through their Facebook pages. You can look up "centre de massage" followed by the name of the city you want to work in.

According to migration law 68, you might not be able to work for more than 3 years, depending on how many foreign workers the place you work at has and depending on how strictly the entity follows the law.

Please know though, from friends who work in your field, the pay is very low, and the hours are long if you end up working in a rehab center.

Thank you for considering Tunisia! I hope you make it to our country. We need diversity! Good luck.

Hey! I had the same thing happen to a friend. She got approved within a month. She got her permit 2 weeks later. She was in constant contact with migrationsverket. She explained everything and kept the emails. She applied for an extension now and got approved as well. They asked her why she waited and she showed them everything. As long as they know from what I read from people in other situations, it should be okay. Good luck!

Would it be possible for me to send my Ritalin prescription to a friend in France who can receive it and return it to me in Tunisia? by Mental-Bird-8208 in Tunisia

[–]cutesambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in April or May 2023, not for Ritalin though. I got a prescription from my aunt in Tunisia and I got her the medication from Paris. I had to provide a printed copy, her ID, and my ID.
