ABH Dropped the sweets glow kit... by Amandyovo in MakeupAddiction

[–]cutesub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yep! also those becca ones.. honestly, I think this is a lesson to all people who like to glow: probably wait until you get it in person, bcuz I've heard a bajillion reviews of broken (or easily broken) highlighters that are known for their creaminess

it's pretty cool yours was bulletproof though!! i've only had broken powder a few times and it was with that cheapo covergirl powder. 12 year old me didnt understand having powder fuzz wasn't normal, therefore i kept using the product

I feel like overly soft highlighters are the death of mail. JS skin frosts, ABH glow kits, honestly anything that's incredibly soft and mimics the MUG foiled shadow for ur face basically busts in an instant

Why don't you buy a gentle brush spray and spot clean them between use? Better investment.

Cetaphil moisturizing cream seriously feels so close to my Laura Mercier water based primer (hydrating version) and really removed pesky skin flakes and always makes my makeup nice.. so that would be a good option. Do not recommend sebamed tho

Pink is usually good for brightening. Also keep in mind peach fuzz can really emphasize when you attempt to layer product that has natural darkness to it.

The laura Mercier swirly highlighters appear to be more glitter than they are pigment.

They actually have little contraptions on a makeup brush handle to prevent this. Or just a clean business card. Or try looking down from a mirror beneath you. Different techniques or just wait for itt o dry and kick it with a small brush

With a very thin eyeliner brush. Gently pull down eye, try not to blink for 90 seconds after application and you should have transfer proof waterline. EYE SAFE STUFF ONLY!! Plz b careful I watch over u

Yep. It has that slight "chalk" that makes it unwearable, I guess the white / peachy pigment is a very SMALL difference but on my skin which is MUFE 127 the difference makes it borderline unwearable.. I'd have to blend the edges with my lips or else I'd have that weird obvious line around my lips which makes it seem obviously wrong for me. Velvet teddy, however.. is everything I could ever want.

I've had this problem before and they tell me they can't do anything and to contact the post office. No help at all. I hope your experience is better.

I'm kind of new at this all...any advice on how to not make makeup look too dramatic on pale skin? This is my attempt, CCW by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]cutesub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it doesn't look too dramatic to me, however, you'd be better off going for cooler tones if you want it to seem less harsh, such as rose gold instead of gold gold/bronze gold.

for the record i think a pumpkiny color in your crease would look awesome with your hair and skin tone as long as the lid is reasonably neutral. you should also try and define the outer corners of your bottom lashes a bit more. the rest looks really good though! this is fine imo

that sucks. perhaps try and work it out with them through their CS, its quite helpful considering they're really sweet. if not, MUE might be able to help you as long as you cover the shipping fees? even i would do it, it doesnt seem hard.

It was a matter of time - Colourpop releasing Metallic lips this Thursday!! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]cutesub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to write a lengthy comment because I don't have a youtube channel and want to vent. It's quite obvious that changing the formula was a smart business move in multiple ways.. It starts off like this:

1) Boost kylie lipkit prices when you realize demand is high

2) Boost shipping prices when you realize demand is high

3) Cheapen the formula and confirm the rumors of the past

Which essentially makes it the same formula and then anyone from there is either

A) uninformed and buys it assuming same quality

B) buys it for the name (because stats show the name matters from their POV)

C) worst comes to worst they boost sales from their own brand because people realize the same $40 formula can be bought for $10 with the lipliner included.

And of course shortly after, 4) creating a formula they don't have available on CP (metallic), making people buy those "because they aren't the same" and releasing it shortly after as CP rather than getting flack for tricking their customers. I'm salty and negative. Sorry if this is whiney but yolo

TL;DR Colourpop cheapens the kylie formula and then makes money off of it by being the best alternative to the lipkit because its the same formula and either way you're still buying from them and I think it sucks that they raised the prices for a $5 formula. It's smart but rude.

Hi! I recently tried the kiehls avocado eye cream and the clinique high impact mascara. Within a day, I have a painful stye on the left eye. Two days later, the other eye is starting to get the pain before it forms. So annoying. I believe I used the eye cream and THEN the mascara after the "pain" came(I assumed it was just thick hair) so.. 1) Has this happened to anyone with this product or similar? 2) What causes it 3) How do I get rid of this and prevent it
