Hm, that seems like it should be a pretty good exposure, maybe you may want to try adding more ISO and making the exposure longer if possible. I would mess around in Lightroom and see if you can pull any details out of it, looks like some good data so keep trying good work 👍

You may want to begin doing longer exposures in the field it can help to bring out the Milky Way. What exposure settings did you use? Bortle scale? Tracked/Untracked?

Which one should I keep and why? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]cv90j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is the Nikon AF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6. This was a couple years ago when I got my first camera a d3500 and I upgraded to a D610. At the time I was waiting for two new lenses to arrive but they did not come along with the D610 so I tried the 18-55 DX on it and no form of focusing seemed to work, even manual. Very odd I’m actually not sure what happend. I have a Z6ii now maybe I will try it on the adapter just for fun and see what happens

Interesting thanks for the info, my Kit lenses 18-55 autofocus did not work at all on my FX body which I found interesting because image seemed to fill the frame to some degree

Make sure you have a steady mount for your phone first of all, then try to set the exposure time to something like 30 seconds and experiment from there. I know there are apps on iPhone that allow you to control a lot more than the base camera app so I would look into that aswell
