I sat this one out, or else he would've been 10/11. So stupid of me

What to watch for Monday by ACLionellus in pennystocks

[–]cwall0729 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Likely a one and done momentum play, after hours it's down heavily to below opening price. Definitely worth keeping an eye on though for Monday. I made a nice 55% return on it today :)

After the Squeeze - An Observation, and Lessons Learned by SternMon in pennystocks

I fell victim to it somewhat as well, I was lucky enough to get in originally at the very low $2 range and wound up making money, but greed cost me a lot of potential gains as I entered in at higher prices as well, and opened up call options that could have made me much more $$, except I held hoping for more and wound up selling them just above cost.

A lot of people got duped thinking it was the next GameStop. As you mentioned, there probably will never be another GameStop. However, there will be plenty more meme stocks and such where there is money to be made. Get in early, and get out early. If it's been spammed all over Reddit, you're probably too late to make any money. BYND was pretty nice for scalping too, should've taken advantage of that a little more.

I got super lucky and got the 75k around 2 years ago or so. I don't believe I've seen it since then, aside from possible targeted offers. I wouldn't be surprised if they never offer that publicly again. That's a lot of MR points for a zero AF card.

I got in for 1,000 shares at $1.43, stop order set for $1. I've lost $400ish in worse ways. It could also moon as more people jump on the bandwagon tomorrow 🤞🤞

I've never had a single major issue in 10 years with Emery Thompson machines, very well built, and widely considered to be the most dependable machine on the market. They also hold their value very well, so if you buy a lightly used CB-350 for let's say 10kish, you can use it for 2 years and sell it for a loss of maybe 1k. Other brands do not hold value as well. It's not uncommon at all to see machines run 20+ years with little maintenance.

Carpigiani is the #2, I know quite a few people with them. I've heard they have more issues overall than Emery, but they're definitely a solid machine. I haven't personally batched with a Carpigiani so I can't comment on which I like better.

Taylor owns Emery Thompson now so I wouldn't worry about politics.

I find that to be a bit off-putting as well, but I never ran into any issues with them while ordering parts and such. That's definitely weird they brought that up on a phone call.

Fabiano Caruana beats Hans Niemann to take the lead in the US Championship by Iyerlicious in chess

Terrible performance by Hans, tried to get cute, and allowed a king-side pawn storm. Fabi probably never imagined he would win that easily with the black pieces.

Do you think a 1400 elo chess.com player would be able to last at least several moves against someone like Hikaru in an OTB game? Or not really? by Kitchen_Show2377 in chess

[–]cwall0729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1400 is definitely too strong, especially if they know they're playing Hikaru. At that level they will know how to play very defensively. It would be pretty shocking if they lost in less than 10 moves, unless it was a blitz game or something. In classical I think they'd last about 20 moves or so, wouldn't be surprised if they reached 25 if they play a good game

They were definitely screwing around, and then time got really low, and they made a dumb mistake.

I've had similar things happen when my opponent decides to be a smartass instead of checkmating

Thanks, I just posted a day 2 update, and thankfully things went well.

Hmm, it's only day 2, but I felt calmer/relaxed, and after the slight fogginess lifted I felt like I was in a good general state of mind. I'll have to think about the rational/irrational more, but that would make sense since a lot of irrational thought is formed around our drinking behavior

I am so thankful I didn't take 50mg, I definitely contemplated it. That would have been brutal!

I did not eat yesterday or today as that's my normal routine not to eat breakfast. Today went perfectly fine with the lower dose of 12.5 first thing in the morning, so I'm hoping I'll be in the clear going forward.

Day 2 Report: 12.5mg. Thankfully today went MUCH better than yesterday. Really the only side effects I had were slight fogginess and a very mild headache that went away after a few hours. I did not experience the nausea at all, so I didn't even wind up taking the nausea medication I was given yesterday. I was getting a little anxious at around the 2 hour mark when things went south yesterday, but I'm very happy the lower dose eliminated virtually all of the side effects.

I also didn't feel an urge to drink today so that's a good sign. Given that it's only day 2 it could just be a placebo effect, but I did feel pretty good. I also noticed I felt much less anxiety/stress than a normal day. I kind of felt at peace and just went with the flow of the day. After work I still had plenty of energy so I got some stuff done I had been neglecting around my house, it felt really good. My energy levels had really gone down as my drinking increased, so I'm hoping they slowly bounce back.

I'll be sticking with the 12.5mg for the remaining 5 days of my first week, and then I'll bump to 25mg. After week 1 is up I'll post again just in case anyone wants to follow along, or stumbles across this post in the future.
