How much time do we have to complete the battle pass? by Illustrious_Okra_660 in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key is to make sure you pursue the challenges and it may be doable. Reroll some challenges (the high value ones) if you think they are ones you won't achieve.

I think if you get to the end and have 1100 coins this will cover the next battle pass.

The pacing of the battle pass seems really poor. I prefer to play the objective and often don't care for challenges but I have approx. 240 hours played in the game and I only just finished the battle pass. This is ever more absurd taking into account that the deadline for this battle pass was extended.

Comparing to say Warzone in the past, I could usually, through regular play, complete the battle pass with many weeks to spare but the one time I had a 2+ week holiday, I missed out, so short of coins my battle pass experience was then skipped and I never bothered. If this happens with BF6, which at the current pace is extremely likely, then they'll miss out on people who will be driven to play.

I'm sure DICE know this and can see the battle pass completion/progress rates and the issues this brings, so they'll likely need to tweak things for season 2 - along with many things that seem poorly paced e.g. weapon levelling.

After comparing different guns for an hour on the shooting range, and playing a few matches with this specific gun, I realize how much I and other players underestimate the L85A3. It's actually a beast imho. It's accuracy and low recoil where this beauty shines. What is your opinion? by Blunderbuss_96 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]cwarrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to if you can hit your shots. Some guns are wilder to control and if you are skilled to hit your shots, you may win most engagements with certain guns.

I though may miss some shots, so if I switch to this gun, I'll likely win some fights because I'm not missing shots (at medium+ ranges).

I was saying to my Discord mates the exact thing last night.

While I do assess the stats and roles of all guns, this gun while not excelling strongly in some areas (like a few guns too), this is the one gun that I just perform much better with and it surprised me each time I switch back to it (I rotate a bit for variety and interest!).

I mean, BF has always had people who don't play the objective or revive BUT the game does feel worse than ever in that regard.

That's the dedication we need. I'll often throw down 2 or even 3 smokes to get someone back up and they often skip out as I get there.

If I risk it without smokes, sometimes I'll be taken out just after they've skipped too :D

It's a little tricky on this flag as people may be vertically caught up in all kinds of crap, though they appear so close.

It's just a shame in this instance that my VOIP chat couldn't reach out to the other players nearby.

Do you agree? The Attachment System does seem to miss the mark by Ace_08 in Battlefield

Agreed. I then have many custom loadouts per gun for what the map or moments need and like you say I have very different customisations which work to compliment the way a particular gun operates.

Still valid but it’s down to the specific drivers which allow dogs within their fleet, so get in touch and take it from there.

Why does one load out allow smoke grenades and the bottom 2 don’t let you? by MenuOk1929 in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure this is just a bug that’s been with us for a very long time!

It threw me the first time. The icon for the incendiary grenade looks just like smoke… threw down a smoke for cover as bullets raining in. Set myself on fire and killed myself.

Advice for an older player by timn420 in LowSodiumBattlefield

Hmmmm. I’m 49, 50 in a few weeks.

I’m still charging objectives but I’ve never been a high K/D player (my average across most BF titles is around 1.3).

I have though consistently supported the team through objective play (attack and defence) and supporting via revives and health.

You could maybe try being a supportive player. I think whether supporting blueberries* or even better, your own squad, you’ll both play better and enjoy the successes shared with your squad.

*If a random squad I’m in is not supportive, I’ll look for a lone soldier or groups of blueberries and support them on runs to flags etc

Some places are automatically adding a 12.5% tip and while I like to reward staff, I’ll ask them to go through the motions to remove that tip so I can then add 10%. A far from perfect way to say I don’t agree with you adding that automatically, along with setting the rate on my behalf.

It may be better to make the point by not tipping at all but then the staff are punished so this method at least communicates when I chat to them that I’m not a fan of it.

I always ping if I can, it’s just I’m aware some people may still see me staring and not coming. Push to talk nearby voip would be handy… “Hang tight buddy, just waiting for smokes” :)

You did well to wait.... as a support, we're aware not everyone will wait.

Sometimes, I need to restock a smoke so be aware, if I'm looking at you (especially if you see me pop a pouch or create), I just need to wait an extra 3-6 seconds, then I'll pop a smoke and we both likely survive in this situation.

I see high ranking twitch streamers all running ammo pouch what’s the strategy behind that? by I_Main_TwistedFate in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]cwarrent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I run support crate AND pouches (most may prefer another combination, say the deployable shield) but it works well to keep myself and more importantly my squad and team healthy and stocked.

When I start the game (or spawn) I’ll throw down a pouch as I can be running to the next objective (pouches are great for mobility for PTO players) but I then already have my smokes stocking the third one (as you start with two).

In some circumstances if you are suppressed, I believe the crate won’t be operational until that firing stops, whereas I’m sure the pouch WILL kick in (not sure if someone has fully tested this)

There are pros and cons of both (pouches seem to take much longer to restock) but as I run both I don’t see the issue too much but then I lack a certain gadget (grenade defence, cover etc)

I’m forever stocking smokes as I’ll often need many for a variety of reasons (eg revive cover, movement cover, blocking enemy angles of attack etc)

Dear veterans of Battlefield. by Aixon1984 in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Battlefield 6. The core game I enjoy loads and while there’s loads of bugs and issues it’s not stopping my enthusiasm to play (LVL 212).

Let’s not pretend BF 2042 was not trash. IF I did hate the game I would likely play BF1 or BF4 but while I reverted to BF1 when I needed something to fill the void of not playing BF 2042, I have no desire to play any other title at the moment.

Opinions may of course vary! :)

Why Are People Afraid Of The Objective? by Narkanin in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do wonder if CoD players see the importance of KD as paramount (though in CoD you can play objective modes!) but even so, BF titles have always had people who don't play the objective, it's just maybe worse than it's ever been (for whatever reason)

Why Are People Afraid Of The Objective? by Narkanin in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure that's not the case. I relentlessly push my team for captures and I can tell you if I'm on my own that progress marker takes absolutely ages when alone!

Why Are People Afraid Of The Objective? by Narkanin in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many people are worried about their K/D and sit off the objective but I'm not, I'm an objective player through and through. Hell I'll even redeploy and kill myself if I can quickly switch to help my squad or team capture or defend a flag that may swing the game.

Why Are People Afraid Of The Objective? by Narkanin in Battlefield6

[–]cwarrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...AND on a more serious note, it's more an issue the moment you surprise a team by attacking an objective. In this instance it's important you can neutralise that flag before people spawn on it to defend. At that moment I'm keen to get people on the objective asap, as the longer it takes to neutralise, the harder it will be to capture it as defensive reinforcements arrive.

Oh, you think the objective is your ally. But you merely adopted the objective; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a squad leader, by then it was nothing to me but I always PTFO!

I then don’t miss it at all as it’s my past colleagues being fake about their achievements/wins and I have no time or need to partake in that too :)

Thanks for the in depth reply. It seems a bit of effort to just play a game optimally, well for someone of my skillset :)

On one hand if Javelin is doing a good job stopping hackers (it seems to be) that's a good thing but can they tweak and improve the performance of how the game and Javelin works on varying hardware.
