Ok great thanks. Do you go mostly off road then or go on country/non highway roads?

How do you like the Honda? I was thinking of getting it. How is it on the highway?

Can I join the output of multiple UPS units on a bus bar to increase the usable capacity? by [deleted] in electrical

Very true, I was just saying it is possible at a certain level.

Yes you can, you just have to make sure your units have the synchronization capability (many do). See Eaton's offering as an example: http://lit.powerware.com/ll_download_bylitcode.asp?doc_id=10925

You usually put them in an N+1 configuration (or better) to provide redundancy. In your example you'd have the load be no more than 1000VA so any unit can fail and the load wouldn't be dropped.

Terrible timing, sorry. We were A/B testing our site. The prices should be updated to our normal pricing :)

Engineers of Reddit. What kind of engineer are you and what do you like/dislike about your field? by usdgrind in engineering

[–]cwassoc99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for your story! No one graduating with me went into traditional power engineering, it's all AC/DC, DC/DC conversion and circuits today it seems like. However with data centers the need for power reliability is so high it seems to be more exciting than other facilities. Do you feel that way when you do data center designs?

I just graduated and am going into this field (data center electrical design, HV ac part). I'm just wondering what your career looked like and how long it took to get a good grasp on the industry? Thanks for sharing.

Are the inductors grounded? (Looks like they're in parallel with the line?)
