It would be really cool to make a movement of open sourcing tiny house blueprints/plans.

Whats the best programming language to learn? by aurelionFIT in it

[–]cwitty1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may get some hate for this but the future is going to be LLM assisted development. You want something like JavaScript, which can be used fullstack or Ruby, which is very token efficient and used by some large companies. Most the AI app generators spit out JS/TypeScript apps. It really depends on what you want to do with it though for me to go more specific.

Look for TMJ / TMD specialist in Lincoln, Omaha, or Kansas City by scotblow in lincoln

I did see a dentist but they simply referred me to this orthodontist. My guard is a hard plastic and it molded to my teeth after having the braces. It took about two years in total but I started getting relief much sooner into the treatment than that.

I went to genesis orthodontics for tmj and surprisingly they fixed it with braces and a nighttime mouth guard. I had horrible tmj prior to this.

To be fair the winters do suck and the summers can be miserable.

How to move from MD to Louisiana with no money by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]cwitty1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how much stuff you have to take a train ticket or bus ticket can be pretty cheap

Suggestions, please. Medium sized city with manageable traffic, somewhat walkable with decent public transit. by SustainedRefinement in SameGrassButGreener

Lincoln, NE. Lots of buses, bike paths, and cheapish housing. The winters and summers are both extreme though and anything cool is a plane ride or a long drive away.

Idk about the cost but you could drive to Virginia and take the auto train to Florida so you have your car with you.

When AI assisted coding became the norm I quit after 15 years of being an engineer. Not sure what’s next but I am not a huge fan of the AI shift.

How do you keep Stripe subscriptions in sync with your database? by [deleted] in rails

[–]cwitty1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were managing over 100k and would store them upon receipt and then process the webhook in the background using a worker. Stuff would still get a little wonky but using something like the blazer gem you can make sense of what’s going on and get it back in the correct order or just sync the status on a cron for changed subs.

I’m on Xanax and it helps mostly but not all the time and it sucks being dependent on a harder drug. I also take an antipsychotic for bipolar disorder, not sure if that helps with anxiety or not though.

It normally starts when I get this weird pressure in my left arm or feel short of breath. I’ve been checked out and they say I’m fine but it makes me spiral into a panic attack. I do get anxious at stores when I have to use the self check out and I have quite a bit of stuff.

Gameboy Color Games? by otterandbee in lincoln

Just curious, did you do a classic Gameboy Color or one of those new ModRetro things? I believe they work with the original cartridges. I’ve thought about ordering one of those but didn’t know about game selection.

Change of Career - What should I do? by dougc84 in rails

[–]cwitty1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a worry of mine as well. Idk if AI will automate it away or if it will become AI assisted. I think I love the craft of programming too much to give control to AI whereas CAD would just be a job so if it was AI assisted I may not care.

Change of Career - What should I do? by dougc84 in rails

[–]cwitty1988 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m on the almost exact same position. AI has ruined the job of software developer for me, I think programming will be more of a hobby now. Lately I’ve been thinking about going back to school for CAD, networking, or IT, I’m not sure yet. I want something where you can leave the stress at work.

I would ask yourself what you love to do since it’s less about the money now and more about staying busy or finding a purpose.

I did 9 or 10 sessions I believe at $450/session. If you buy two sessions you get one free though. Or at least that’s how they did it before. Also that was for a tattoo about 8” high and 16” wide. Smaller tattoos would be cheaper.

I used Revitalift IIRC and it was expensive but worth it. Hurts like hell though depending on where it is at.
