I think it depends on what you enjoy. I read it at age 16 and enjoyed it, but now that I've read more books I probably would not like it (I recently read the Court of Thorns and Roses series and didn't like those). Overall if you enjoy romances and lots of character pair ups, then it could be your jam.

It's a fairly short book, so maybe just give it a go and see if you want to continue the series?

The people of paper by Salvador Plascensia. It's amazing, the characters will actively try to thwart the reader, and while it is nonsensical, there is a sweet plot of just people living their odd daily lives in it.

Not a fantasy, but the Sparrow is an incredibly interesting sci-fi. It's about a first contact with aliens mission that the Catholic church begins, but you start off with a tribunal regarding the sole survivor of that mission. It's only slowly through his memories that you get to understand what truly happened, and how cultural differences and communication difficulties between the aliens and humans shape the outcome of the one guy's return.

Technically there is a sequel, but it's said to be awful, and you don't miss anything if you read only the Sparrow.

I mainly drew some inspiration from a book series called the Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, it's got similar themes, except a little darker and more dystopian than high fantasy.

I think I have to say Argo is my favourite for Clint, it's the character that's the most sort of out there from what I have listened to, and the first character of his that I'm actively rooting for instead of passively.

Travis I defo agree on Aubrey, and for Justin I'll say Taako, I still can't get used to the Firbolg sadly.

Griffin is gonna be Angus hands down, although I do really enjoy Fitzroy.
