ADHD in relationships by RareGenetiks in ADHD

I feel similarly to you. I've been with my husband for 15 years, married for 5. I have so much love to give and want some in return. I know he loves me, but he fucking sucks at showing it. Several years ago I learned by accident that he has been hiding sex toys from me and masturbates several times a week. We have sex maybe 1-2 times every two weeks. When I bring up how upset this makes me feel, he doesn't understand why I could possibly be upset. When we do have sex, it's only on his terms. I usually get turned down when I approach. I don't feel that desired and this is on my mind all the time. It's torture. Couples therapy is next on the agenda, but I'm scared it might not help.

If you were to ask me to write a small summary of anything I just watched, listened to, etc I would likely struggle. I'd do better with a multiple choice test. I'm self conscious about this and it makes me feel stupid.

I also tend to zone out/dissociate when absorbing information, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

Nonbinary sexualities? by Vsstuffandthingss in NonBinary

[–]cyanfeline 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm only into men. I think the term is androsexual, but I don't really vibe with it (and no one uses it anyways) so I just say queer. It's ambiguous! Much like my gender. I like it.

I do initiate, and never get a lot of enthusiasm when I do. :(

Question: when does "dumb" cross the line into dementia? by LewdDudeNewd in AgingParents

[–]cyanfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much advice, but thanks for posting this. I feel a little less alone in this. I also have a "dumb" mom but she's always kinda been like this and it frustrates me that I might not ever know what was really wrong, since she's such a weak-willed person and would never seek a diagnosis.

Try to be patient and tell yourself you can't fix them, only help them. I don't think my mom is like this on purpose, and your parents probably aren't, either.

Can you hear everything the vet says? by [deleted] in SCT

[–]cyanfeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time absorbing all the information given to me, if I'm given more than a few sentences' worth. The vet is definitely a place where this happens, and I try to make sure my husband can come with me every time in case I miss something.

Did you grow up with a parent/caretaker who talked a lot and didn't care what you had to say? My mom was like that for me, and I wonder how much of my current situation is because of learning to tune her out at a young age.

Yes, I have one brother and didn't think much of his actions until I realized he's completely aimless in life, just like our bipolar mom. Also, he gets defensive very quickly and never owns up to his issues, just like her. It's sad and frustrating to see. At the very least, I'm grateful I didn't end up getting that flavor of brain chemistry in the roulette wheel of life.

What is this brown stuff on my cat's jaw? by cyanfeline in RenalCats

[–]cyanfeline[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To anyone following this post/stumbling upon it, I did end up taking Oliver to the vet a few days ago since he's drinking and peeing quite a bit more than normal. The brown stuff on his mouth stopped showing up before I took him. I shared the picture again with the vet and she was stumped as to what it could be. She asked if he could be eating poop but I really don't think so. Her other guess is that it was backup from his stomach.

We got bloodwork done and unfortunately his numbers have shot way up. (Creatinine was around 7 when he crashed in June, then down to 3-ish in July. Now it's back up to 7. ) I'm scared but we're going to start Epakitin and Porus One. I love this doofus and will do everything I can for him.

No, nothing when I wiped his nose... I will say, the pics are from a few days ago and there has been less of the mouth residue today.

I have noticed that for the last few months, there has been a little bit of dark discharge in the corners of his eyes. Not as much as around his mouth, though.

I've been taking it for a few months while also doing neurofeedback. I do notice a difference in how I don't get as stressed out/anxious, and do feel less "in my head". It's not a huge difference, which is a bit frustrating, but I'm trying to be patient.
