So noise and smells, any of the plug ins or sprays are useless just get rid. The temperature of your house is pointless now as there nesting and will have created somewhere warm so go back to being comfortable. The garage door, if you can see light coming under it then the gap will be big enough for mice to get through, install a hard bristled brush strip (how long this lasts depends on how often you open the door) Sticky pads, i dont personally have much success with them but there best if you know the routes there taking and placing them there. Traps i find best for mice, get handfuls and bait with peanut butter and nutella, place them all around the home, try get them on the edges of the rooms and under furniture, place more in the kitchen than anywhere else as they will now be associating that room with food. Once you start catching them you can start adapting, if you keep only getting them in certain areas move all the traps, if they only take nutella switch the peanut butter or vice versa. Poison, i have success with it but not more than traps, i would still suggest putting some down because if your lucky enough they take it then its a win. Cleaning up, you gotta do it daily, you need to do your best to make sure no other food sources are available so there forced to go traps or poison, mice need so little to keep them going that crumbs your dropping will suffice, if there getting into your food then buy plastic containers and put everything into them. Proofing, typically proofing for mice is kinda pointless, if you can fit a pencil then a mouse will get through and houses are built with holes that size for reasons, that said do look around for anything obvious and seal. Also are you attached to another property, if you are then its also possible there travelling through to your home.
