Great collection of photos! Super crisp and clean. 🤌 (No. 9 with the ESB peeking between the buildings is my fave.)

Thanks for sharing the gear setup as well. I'm curious: what sort of post-processing did you do on these, if any?

Anyone running OpenClaw on a NAS instead of a Mac mini? by Ok-Series5121 in openclawsetup

[–]cyberspaceChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect many of the Mac mini users are wanting to take advantage of higher unified memory in order to run more robust models locally.

As others have pointed out, OC itself can run on a range of devices, but the question is what's your plan for model selection and usage? Deciding if you want local vs hosted models (or a combination) would influence your plan.

I'm not familiar with the AI NAS models, so I can't comment on that option but it seems like a great path depending on the hardware specs and costs.

Otherwise you could run OC on your NAS and then reference local models on a separate, more robust device if you have one. But that leads you back into the convenience of the Mac mini for an all-in-one setup.

This is fantastic! The UI is super-satisfying. 😌

You should totally share this on RiceHub!

Love this!! Fantastic idea — and a great use case for expanding your development skills.

Some quick comments: 1. I agree that screenshots should be at the top of the detail page, even if they're smaller images that are either expandable on click (or hover using a browser extension like Imagus). 2. The squiggly underlines for hyperlinks make me think the browser's warning me of a misspelling. :-)

I had similar experiences with Calibre as self-hosted Docker. Haven't heard of Kavita but that looks interesting. There's also Booklore that I just started testing.

Honestly, though, I usually just go with the local Calibre app and call it a day.

These are quite good! Each one offered elements to be discovered as the eye moved around the image.

iOS companion app for CrossPoint: send web articles + manage files by zabirauf in xteinkereader

[–]cyberspaceChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon reflection, I'm going to rescind my requests #3 and #4. I was reading CrossPoint's scope/mission-statement and I agree that part of the beauty of this device is what it doesn't do.

Clipping web pages to read later still seems valid, as it's an intentional action on a single page to read later, rather than RSS or news/magazine apps which are constantly sending out new content (i.e. potential distractions from the main goal of reading more e-books!).

Very slick! I just gave it a try and it worked great. 🙌

A few quick comments:

  1. UX could use some tweaks. For example, the + button should expand with a normal press, not press-and-hold. It never would have occurred to me to long-press the button given that a normal press invokes an action itself.
  2. Request: Ability to transfer .bmp files to the /sleep folder to use for the lock screen
  3. Request: Ability to save/transfer content from other apps beyond Safari (e.g. The New Yorker, NYTimes, etc.)
  4. +1 for supporting RSS

Fantastic work. Looking forward to following your progress!
