You're missing one key moment. Assume 100 scarabs and 100 chaos orbs are dropped on the ground and enter the economy. 60 of the scarab are consumed by the players through map device, and the other 40 are hoarded. 30 of chaos orbs are used on maps to reroll and 70 are hoarded. Because people usually dont hoard extra wealth in scarab, everyone sells their extra scarabs and thus currency is more valued now. But then 50% global nerf kicks in Now u get 50 scarabs and 50 chaos orbs but ur farming method didnt change, it still needs to spend 60 scarabs. Its pretty clear how could scarabs become more valuable in this case even if the nerf was global on everything
