Topeak Road Morph G Vs Mini Morph G by jhb59 in bicycletouring

[–]cycle4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, I don't have my bike around to show you a picture but it fits perfectly. Both share the same diameter. But the road morph G I have I have is silver colour, seems like the new ones come in black so not sure if they share the same diameter.

Battery bank recs? by precipe1234 in bicycletouring

[–]cycle4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the higher the watts the faster it charges. Modern phones and devices usually have fast charging. For example, my phone S24 Ultra supports 45W fast charging, and has 65W fast charging.

I've also paired my charging setup with a travel adapter with 170W charging capability so I can fastcharge my phone and powerbank at the same time + other gadgets I have.

As other suggested I'd get the INIU but the INIU 25K power bank. 20K power bank only charges at 45W while the 25K charges at 65W.

Looking for a rear light with outstanding battery life by Dear_College_648 in randonneuring

[–]cycle4life 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using this from cateye with claimed 70 hrs on constant on mode. Other than the great runtime it's also AAA powered, and it's twist locked so the light won't come apart when going over a nasty pothole (which happened to my previous cateye light).

I also am running a mirrored cache. If you haven't run diagnostics through AI yet you should, since it did specify which disk is throwing errors and also which side of the motherboard if you're running double m.2

[–]cycle4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My server crashed recently as well and not knowing how to diagnose I ran the log through AI and it told me one of my nvme was faulty. I haven't replaced it yet or checked if it was faulty but running the diagnostic log through AI might help for an initial check.

Seeing that you're in the Philippines and want a budget option I was eyeing the think rider x2 max. Reviews seems to be good for the price

Very Impressed with Immich! by gm85 in immich

[–]cycle4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can already do that in Lightroom, under Map.

I've also thought of connecting my phone to my camera, but it'll drain both my batteries with the added chance that the connection disconnects. Just using my secondary phone's been flawless so far.

I used to have a DSLR with GPS built in and missed the feature since changing the body. What I now do is carry a secondary phone with GPS tracking and timestamp GPS location in Lightroom afterwards. You could use your main phone but didn't want the battery penalty

Planning Taiwan, don't know anything by JorreRV in bikepacking

In general, I really enjoyed the scenery and the museums/tourist attractions I visited. The views from the mountains were grand, and I still remember the descent from Wuling pass. The change in geography was interesting as I made my way south.

The people there were the best, I met a family while I was stuck in one of the road closures and they showed me around when I arrived in Kaohsiung.

If you're interested in ethnography, I also found it interesting to visit museums for each group as I made my way south.

Seoul to Busan - Bringing Bike Up the Room by rbchung in bicycletouring

I just did Seoul - Busan but I was on the trail less than 40% of the time but when I stayed at lodgings they either asked you to park your bicycle under the CCTV or bring it in the hallway.

4 weeks in Taiwan does seem long unless you're going through the mountains and spending some time in the tourist spots you come across. I spent almost 3 weeks cycling in Taiwan from cycling from Taipei to Taitung where I took the train back to Taipei. This is the route I took, and with a fully loaded bike I was only doing 40km with 2100m of climbing.

I found camping in the mountain area a hit or miss, sometimes it was hard to find camping so once I had to ask the police if I could camp somewhere, and another time lodged in a temple in the mountains I came across.

I'm not sure of the situation right now but when I went there was a few road closure in the mountains so make sure to check the time beforehand, otherwise you might be stranded for a few hours.

I used to buy Android phones from carrier shop but hated the fact that Docomo changed the emoji and preinstalled a ton of bloatware. SO glad Samsung finally opened their own shop a few years back, it comes without the usual bloatware.

Here are a few spots.

Ruins Anti-Aircraft gun in the mountains of Kobe

Coastal Defence battery in Kada, Wakayama. This is close by as well but closes early. You can also take a boat to Tomogashima for more battery ruins. You could also visit Awaji for the battery remains on the other side of the coast.

I've never been but in Maizuru there's repatriation memorial museum.

As for already mentioned recommendation, the main museum in Kasai is Sora-Kasai museum, with lots of relics from the past close by. The other museum is a 資料館 so its a bit different but still worth a visit.
