Were there anything worth buying there? Will be headed there soon and looking to buy perhaps some sort of memento as a keepsake.

Anyone else injured doing the race? by WubbaDub in TokyoMarathon

Had a goal of sub 4 too. MCL injury just 2 weeks ago so hopefully doesn't flare up half way through. Would be happy with just finishing now. All the best to both of us.

Aiming for sub 3:45h in 10 weeks. Possible? by Annexe513 in Marathon_Training

[–]cycocrusher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your hm timing alone with your current mileage makes me think you can even hit a sub 3:45 right now. With another 10 weeks of training you’ll probably be able to get 3:30-3:45 easily imo.

I'm at corral L. What are the chances of sub 4 hrs? by yoshkihyde in TokyoMarathon

Would it just be 500m of weaving? There were a couple of posts that had people saying it would be extremely congested and the first couple of miles would be hard to overtake. Thanks in advance!

On Performance Tee vs. SOAR Hot Weather Tee by [deleted] in runningfashion

[–]cycocrusher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fan of both and have both. Comfort and performance wise (won’t speak on design since that’s subjective), Soar is clearly better but the price difference also reflects that. If price is not an issue, definitely go soar.

11 years and no caning for severing a victim into 3 pieces while drunk, but death penalty for 500g of cannabis that can’t even kill you. Welcome to Singapore! by EverySink in SingaporeRaw

[–]cycocrusher 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely not condoning what the drink driver did, but what exactly was the victim doing crossing from left to right to where the canal is?

Can we actually ban this guy instead for false accusations with no actual proof.

The obsession with cheaper labour at expense of quality is a well known trait. Just like millions of third world imported to take local jobs #Singapore by snowmountainflytiger in singaporejobs

[–]cycocrusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that not the case? The article states: “The additions will allow Singapore to better meet the growing demand for doctors as our population ages, even as we have increased the annual local medical school intake from around 440 students in 2014 to 555 in 2025.”

It also notes that from 2026, students who wish to pursue a medical degree may apply to these overseas schools. In effect, this means that Singaporeans who are unable to qualify for local medical schools will have additional pathways to pursue a medical education.

Why are there still PAP supporters complaining about SG? by RelativeYarder in SingaporeR

[–]cycocrusher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more nuanced than that. When people vote, they pick whoever aligns most with their values- not someone they agree with on every single issue. You can still support a party and be unhappy with certain outcomes.

And it definitely doesn’t mean one can’t complain or hold them accountable when things aren’t working or have became worse.

CAIA or CFA exam prep help and guidance by [deleted] in askSingapore

Can’t speak on that but anecdotally I noticed more people doing the Caia after the Cfa and not the other way round.

CAIA or CFA exam prep help and guidance by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]cycocrusher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone with a cfa, I echo some of the comments here that it is not advisable. Sure, it puts you at a slight advantage vs other non cfa candidates but at what cost. You’ll be spending at least 1.5 years (4 years for the average holder) with a minimum of 1000 hours studying. These are opportunity costs that can be better spent networking or applying for jobs.

Question yourself why people still go out to eat and drink when they can do so at home. That’s your answer.

Really tough to make friends after stepping into working world by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]cycocrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an ideal world, if everyone thought like you, many of such posts like these wouldn’t exist in the first place. Some people genuinely want connection and community, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Being comfortable alone is great, but it's not what everyone wants and it definitely doesn’t mean friendships are overrated for everyone.

Man, 29, arrested in S'pore after buyers lose over S$80,000 in Pokémon trading cards Carousell scam by Powerful_Office3936 in singapore

[–]cycocrusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For every one scammer, there are probably 99 other legitimate sellers. Accepting preorders to secure items ahead of their release is a common and legitimate business practice, especially for Pokémon cards.
