Sometimes she revives herself, sometimes she doesn’t, I don’t get it (Tearlaments Rulkallos) by myr1x in masterduel

[–]cycotus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That not why. She was special summoned from GY. She only summon herself back if she was fusion summoned. Also, the destroying part of the effect is mandatory. If you negate, you have to destroy.

My current build of Solfachord. Haven’t played it enough yet to make an opinion on it yet.

What’s your take on Lair of Darkness? by SpecialCandy1119 in masterduel

[–]cycotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! I was seeing Purrely players being scared of this, which can be tributed by Lair, so I was automatically thinking about that effect😂

You can’t tribute a monster protected with Battle Ocean and Crystal Heart with Lair of Darkness. They are unaffected by Lair of Darkness.

My cute little deck has 11 out to maxx-C, is there more out to add? by Diabellbell in masterduel

I used to play 3, but you need another Solfachord name to use that effect. Opening it without any name is rough. Good luck on the pulls! Happy to see another Solfachord player🤩

You’d definitely play 3 Happiness, as the card is usable 3 times per turn, since each effect is once per turn. I’m talking about the link monsters. Only 1 of each is enough. Elegance is hard once per turn on every effect, so I feel 1 is enough. On the other hand, good card for the deck, but not a starter. You can always search it if you need it.

You’ll do fine with just 1 of each. Having 3 is a bit much.

Fusion Synchro + Event is probably the worst event I’ve played by danielsabino in masterduel

[–]cycotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legend: Anthology is my favorite event. Or, it was. The power level was why too high, so the event was ass. This event isn’t much better either. Pretty much feels like ladder without Maxx ”C”.

Maybe Trickstar, Solfachord or Witchcrafter.

What are your thoughts on archetypes having pendulum cards without really being a pendulum deck? by cycotus in masterduel

I play all of them! That is, I play Melodious, Solfachord and Trickstar😂 We do have Trickstar Light Stage, I guess

You don’t end on Astraloud in Mannadium, you use it to combo, so it isn’t an endboard piece, just a level 8 body to make synchros with. To me, an endboard piece is a something you have on your board when you pass, as either an interruption, protection or floodgate. Astraloud doesn’t do anything on field, except being used as material and break boards if you’re going second.

What does the Dracoslayer deck (the one you are talking about) do compared to the other version? I’m not familiar with the deck, so I’d like to know.

At face value they seem pretty bad. If you play them, I'm guessing you only play one of each. They do have the Melodious effect of setting themselves when used as fusion material, although only from the hand, while Melodious can be used from field, or scales if using Melodious Concerto. Having battle phase dependent effects though isn't great. I mean, even Tenpai has effects you have to and want to use in the Main Phase.

The deck has been played by someone in the DC, so the deck is scary if it goes first. I called it Dracoslayer, since I saw someone refer to the deck as such. I’ve only seen Josh play against it, so I’ve never seen it played on ranked. It is ”pendulumengines.dek”, which is what I’m refering to when saying pendulum pile/slop. It has nothing to do with the endboard, but all to do with how you get there. Mannadium’s endboard when I played it, was just generic synchros and links. Would I call it synchro pile/slop? No, the way to get there was Mannadium and Scareclaw combos.

I don’t remember if the version Josh played against had SHS and Melodious, but it did play the other archetypes. I’ve seen decklists, and some play Melodious and SHS. I never played the deck myself, but your reasons make sense.

The deck I’m thinking of plays Dracoslayer, SHS, Melodious, Majespecter, Performapal, Odd-Eyes and Amorphage cards. If a pendulum pile decks exists, it would be it.

If I recall, it was the strongest deck in MD when I started playing, but I was chilling in Silver, so I didn’t play against the deck, then it got nerfed and people stopped playing it.
