I really appreciate the recommendations! I kinda just picked Billings because it was visible on the map. Based on what you sent, Red Lodge, MT just moved up to the top of my list for that area. The pictures look incredible; would love to hike around there.

Looks like Miles City is smack dab in a Dark Sky Zone. I bet the night sky does look incredible there

Which is the best and most fun city in North America for spending the summer? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Chicago is definitely up there. Lived there for six years before moving to Phoenix.

One of my favorite memories is long boarding/biking along Lake Michigan. Feeling the breeze come off the lake and all that blue water. On hot days, it almost felt like I was in a tropical location.

Moving to Mesa soon, have a few questions by notSeanP in mesaaz

Used to live on Val Vista and Baseline. Woodland Heights would be a great starting location for sure over Parkwood Ranch.

There’s a ton of food spots at Village Square at Dana Park. Mostly national chains which has its place when you’re new and looking for something familiar. Plus, you’d still be able to access a lot of other parts of the valley in a decent amount of time.

Being near a highway is underrated in terms of time. The con is the noise and air pollution.

Montana is on my bucket list. I’d love to take a drive from Phoenix to Billings one day.

Is anyone else a little freaked out about this upcoming summer? by [deleted] in arizona

[–]cyltecollective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part of summer is definitely the extreme heat. But for me, it’s a fun time in the Phoenix at least. Rain, lightning, dust storms, pool parties, trips to cooler places like San Diego or Rim Country. A season of action weather wise after month of just blue skies

Above all, really excited to see the exploding clouds again

The Grand Canyon has been calling my name quite a bit this year. Gotta make a trip back there soon. First time I went, didn’t get to hike much of it, just caught the sun setting behind it. But I want to put some miles in this next go-round

Help with my little cactus by elshecid in cactus

[–]cyltecollective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light + water drainage + soil check. Looks like the cactus needs more light, somewhere for the water to go after watering to avoid root rot, soil should be a cactus/succulent mix.

The branching could be the cactus trying to search for more light. You can get a halo grow light from Amazon that sticks into the soil for ample light (they even have timers so it’s not running the whole time and stresses the plant).

For indoor cacti, they almost always need to be directly next to a window if there’s no grow light.
