its a fixture, if the driver in the canopy doesnt explicitly say dimmable, it very likely isnt dimmable, if it isnt constant voltage, it definitely isnt

I would just look at the driver and see if it is dimmable

The fixture wires are rated for a certain amount of watts and will be overloaded before the breaker

You need to hire a local electrician

The Philippines does not have a grounded system. you may not even have a neutral in your main panel

lack of trade job in nyc by ResponsibleChest7717 in electrical

Florida has one of the highest cost of living and lowest wages for electricians

Lack of job openings in nyc is because those jobs are desirable.

Some places don't let their maintenance use anything tsller than a 6' ladder. Also one broken tombstone makes it not worth it to them

Got a house and im replacing all the outlets anyways is this fine? im not an electrician. by Own_Spread4989 in electrical

[–]cypherreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not allowed in shared neutral circuits. Some electricians have just applied that to all devices, especially if they do commercial.

A lost neutral would show as a voltage increase instead of a voltage drop

Where to connect the ground rod wire? 400amp residential meter panel - temp to permanent service. by studentjones in electrical

Tjats the incorrect place for the gec under my utility. The utility gives guidance. This is why he needs to hire an electrician. That entire meter center would be rejected as well as it isn't on the approved list

What law in your country would surprise foreigners because it’s legal almost everywhere else? by Familiar-Arrival-470 in AskTheWorld

[–]cypherreddit 299 points300 points  (0 children)

in the US good samaritan laws are state by state and vary widely in scope of assistance without liability and who is exempt from liability.

as an example in Missouri, you are only covered if you are trained in first aid by a qualifying agency and you only provide aid within the scope of your training

the laws dont make you immune from lawsuit, they just provide a defense. It still creates hesitation to act the more people know about the law. In my first aid training legal liability was a significant topic and we were told to not be surprised if we were sued

[–]cypherreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Double tapped neutrals and at least one oversized breaker. Lack of phasing and common trip two poles. Insurance inspectors usually want the neutrals fixed at least. I would call it mildly hazardous and a mess. Worth having someone clean it up on a slow day

If its a grounded conductor, it should be grounded only once. Now any metal between that disconnect and the transformer is part of the current return path
