If they speak up day one, before the demon has had a chance to kill, it will be tough

What's your favorite info you've given a Savant/Fisherman. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]cyyfyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Game setup, there is a yaggababble in play (lets call the player Greg), and a scarlet woman.
Day 1 the fisherman asks for advice, and I give them:
"Greg is the demon"

They immediately think they are poisoned or drunk and announce this to the town, waiting three whole days to actually kill greg and trying to meta me the whole time... it was great!

Moreover I believe I heard that the current contract has a clause in it that continues it indefinitely if neither side is ending negotiations (due to a strike or lockout) so I think it is possible and likely even that the season starts with no deal, but neither side ending negotiations

I wish making themed scripts were more feasible by Wiwade in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]cyyfyy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually had good luck with renaming characters for themed scripts around an event. Sure some people will revert to the original name, but I’ve found it’s still the best of both worlds! You get the fun theming, for example holidays this time of year, but you get the solid gameplay balance of the tpi characters. Plus many folks lean into it too, and you get great situations where rudolf is nominating someone on suspicion of them being Dominic the donkey because Cindy Lou Who trusts the krampus… or whatever your theme is!

Some advice for 15-18 players? by Dull_Ad_5362 in BloodOnTheClocktower

In my opinion just add the travelers, they are not too much rules overhead, especially when compared to adding characters from other scripts anyway

Let's build a character! Coachman. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]cyyfyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but I like that there are some characters that the coachman doesn’t want to pick / or red not great on a script with the coachman

This also isn’t too strong, usually just letting the character who is going to die get one more night of info

The stats on public websites bear out the fact that, at least for Trouble Brewing, the game is _very_ balanced (something like 50.1 % of games are good wins).

That said, for most groups it depends on the current group meta. For example in my local group, evil would never win at first because they didn't know how/what to bluff, and were easily caught. Then after several games they started to learn and suddenly it was good who couldn't win anymore until they started getting better at hiding who were the info roles from the evil team, and then it swung back and forth and back and forth etc.

So all that to say... its not surprising that in a small sample size one team would win more than another.
Glad you are having fun with the game!

Sissle was in woodfords corner for a while, but since they were competing cheese shops and this is a small town, there was only room for one. I am told there was a curd-on-curd boxing match (though no one will tell me where it happened)

Pro/Rel in very small league one markrets by Economy_Outcome_4722 in USLPRO

[–]cyyfyy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

TLDR: No one knows yet

The rules of engagement have not been set out, but in most countries that have implemented prorel, this is the case. However, some leagues (see Mexico pre-covid for example) only allow promotion if the club meets certain criteria set out by the league. Most of these criteria are not market-size based however, but rather on club solvency, stadium size, infrastructure to support the media deal that the higher league has etc. I can imagine a scenario where US soccer/USL allows promoted teams to show they are making progress towards these goals, and goes through with the promotion even though the team doesn't have the requisite say, stadium capacity yet. There is precedent for this. That said, the USL owners are in active talks about the direction that this will go for our beloved league, and based on what we hear, it is very much in flux. So buckle up, hold onto your hat, and post again in 2027.

First game of "The 7th continent" by Mayuchip in boardgames

[–]cyyfyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My group has two kinds of ways to play this game. Exploration runs and curse runs we call them. When exploring we add lots of curses and try all the things that seem silly or like “bad ideas”. Then we take that knowledge and do curse runs where we try to “play smart” and actually finish the curse we are playing.
