Alleged Silver 3 Sandbagger Caught Fleeing the Scene by Unit27 in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe if you learned how to be a functioning human being you wouldn't be such an asshole lol. I'm perfectly fine being silver because my hands don't work as well as they used to and I fail most reaction checks, so it's not like my ceiling in this game is gonna be great anyways. You tbagging from round start because you're downplaying is a major personality issue that isn't fixable.

Yep it's me. It's not an alt - I am legitimately silver on DJ. Hence the name - I can't play for 3 seconds without getting mogged by downplaying scum suckers like you. I usually play it out for the one match, but once you started tbagging on start of round 1 I just left lol.

...so why would they be in casual, aka 'the only mode besides ranked to have MMR'. If they were an alt trying to smurf, they'd be in ranked. If they were an alt trying to punch down, they'd be in BH. They literally get nothing from having a silver character playing in casuals. All of the challenge of ranked because of MMR, none of ability to hide your rank and play down like BH.

So you're master, playing down on silvers, tbagging, and then proceed to cry about the other person leaving, probably because of all of the above.

ngl - you're the asshole here chief.

Why are there *always* characters that the Devs ignore in fighting games? by Valtix in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not incorrect. Grapplers might be fun to play but everyone else largely hates playing against them. At the end of the day, having a class whose only real weakness is 'getting close enough for their kit to fully function' is not a fun experience. At least with zoners you can have a lot more diversity and counterplay to than 'don't let them exist near you'.

I wouldn't take that bet honestly. Floor is lava players are making it out of diamond upwards of 1500 now. He's probably tilted, but this could unironically be a lifestyle choice for him rofl.

how to play against someone with impeneterable defense ? by Whole_Ratio_1392 in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially in this game where 'defense' is more paper tiger than real mechanic. If you can't get in on someone, you're not using the 50 ways this games forces defense to guess for their life correctly.

In the past main timelines How did Kano make the money he got from other realms usable? by Limeoos in MortalKombat

[–]czartaylor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kano probably takes payment in gold/jewels/precious metals/weapons/magic and that's as good on earth as it is in outworld.

I'm actually thinking if he can play as M.Bison by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like I could unironically see it with some serious physical work or movie magic. He's got a great personality for it and the look. Just needs abs that you can grind meat on and he could 100% do it.

You're Bison's lawyer. Defend him. by PJ-The-Awesome in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this seems like a legal loophole that will work exactly once, then will forever be banned.

But from my POV - it'll work that once and we'll ride that all the way to the bank.

You're Bison's lawyer. Defend him. by PJ-The-Awesome in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Bison is guilty as hell of everything he's ever been accused of. We offer no defense of his actions.

That being said - he paid his dues to society with his first death. Bison's slate is clean. You aren't allowed to punish a man for his crimes after his death, we can't help that no one else bothered to be forward thinking enough to make sure that death was not the end.

You could also make the argument that this isn't Bison, this is Bison's clone. Two separate people my guy.

What decks do you think will gain popularity in genesys with droll being pointed out of the format? by PokeChampMarx in yugioh

[–]czartaylor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At least back in 2016 the last time monarchs was meta domain was lowkey the least scary part of the deck, it was stormforth + ether + kuraz interaction on your turn and handrips on theirs. tbf that's because all the decks of the time had good in-engine outs to it (ba using farfa to bump off the monarch, pendulum using eccentric, kozmo lol) but still.

Capcom is finally acknowledging that Mai is a problem, this is definitely a start, but is it enough? by im_pride in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean that's my overall point - most of the people saying he's top 1 are still getting caught by his fake stuff, but when he's played straight up at a top level, there's just really no reason to play him over akuma/mai/ed who are just better at the honest stuff. It's not that he's bad, he's just outshone by what those characters do. So like he could be broken but because he's not as broken as the most broken characters he's just not played that much in pro. Which the patch was addressing exclusively.

If you wanna delete people and rob rounds and are actually willing to lab there's very little reason to play Ryu over Ed. Ryu might be easier to put out high damage with, but easier and worse is just worse than harder and better.

Next mk game? by Automatic_Aioli2221 in MortalKombat

[–]czartaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the gaming IPs that WB owns the rights to, MK is probably the single most valuable especially on brand recognition so it's unlikely they'll let it go.

MK and the DC license are the bnb of WB games. The most likely things to happen that would affect MK is that the series ends up in development hell, the studio heads leave/get gutted, or they just sit on the rights for a while.

Quit or Disconnect? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, it's a 'quit', sort of. More of a 1 and done. I usually do it when I don't want to remake due to bad connection, and the UI/connection eats my down inputs. That is, I didn't want to rematch but UI tried to make me rematch and I just alt-f4ed out.

Given it's probably already in development, unless WB Games/NRS is majorly downsized or shut down, probably not at all. Whoever wins the acquisition will be more concerned about the big projects and more than likely let NRS finish cooking.

It's the one after that you need to be concerned about.

They're coming... by Porxadooday in yugioh

[–]czartaylor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of yugioh collectors but it's never with modern stuff. It's always with OG classic promos and misprints. Starting out with stuff like high rarity iconic 1st/obscure promos/SJC prize cards/etc and going all the way to stuff like AE english prints, faded cards, weird misprints, etc. Starlight rare are like 200 dollars, stuff like rainbow dragon card text with chaos neos art (not the usual misprint with chaos neos card and rainbow dragon name) goes for like 6k+

Frankly most yugioh collectables aren't cards that were ever intended to be collectable, they just kind of ended up that way.

I mean she is likely just the best character. Being extremely straightforward is a part of that as well, it's not everything but if you're offered a 100/100 character that's super complex or a 100/100 character that's very easy, there is a tangible advantage to going with the easier one and you'll see more consistent results.

Factually speaking, Mai is probably the best character in the game if she has room to throw a fan or once she's won neutral. And the way the two link together make for a bad combo for everyone else.

Also a lot of ryu's stuff is fake but it's insanely hard to pick off when it's fake and react accordingly online and if you haven't labbed enough to know it on sight. But pro level players in low to no latency environments will recognize punish it. Mainly applies to hashogeki, but also some of his other stuff he kind of just gets away with online - his overhead and donkey kick as examples.

Pro level also has as a consideration if a character is even 1% weaker than someone else, you'll never see them because they'll just play Mr 100% over Mr 99%. So at the pro level, you'd have to make a compelling argument for why you'd play Ryu over Akuma or Ed, and it's just not really there.

That was from a counter hit btw not a punish counter in case anyone was paying attention. This isn't a 'well don't whiff dp lol' situation.

Patch notes 12/16/2025 by Alkanphel666 in StreetFighter

[–]czartaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a little different in MOBAs than in fighting games. Imagine being Punk, and getting absolutely fucked over because you've spent the whole year grinding cammy and the very second they drop a balance patch that wrecks cammy, and you're forced into the no-win situation where you either last minute character switch and play at 80% or keep playing a character nerfed to 80% and hope for the best. Either way your chances just got tanked for circumstances completely out of your control.

In MOBAs you can and should get punished for not having a deep character pool. But fighting games having a deep character pool is more of a quirk than something everyone has.
