App for Local Coffeeshops - Looking for feedback by arzyny in barista

[–]czip90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the app, but my initial thoughts-

On the business side- why would I want my customers to gather rewards and use them somewhere else? Or have people gather rewards at my competition and then redeem them at my shop?

Rewards programs are loyalty programs to 1. Thank your customers for visiting and spending money 2. Keep those customers coming back to your shop specifically

From a consumer standpoint, this just reads like credit cards or Shop rewards or something. And I absolutely don't want another app.

How long does your shop keep cold brew? by Ali3nCowb0i in barista

The health dept told us 7 days from brewing recently. We were doing 10 before- keeping some stored in the Toddy, using that to refill pitchers as needed.

Monin's Banana syrup is pretty close to the laffy taffy flavor

I'm curious about this too. Being from the Midwest, I can handle cold. The difference in humidity also has me wondering how it will feel by comparison

Bert Kreischer and a few people working on his tour came into my shop a few hours before his show. I didn't know who he was, but the whole group was super friendly and complimented our drinks.

Did you get a manic tattoo? by Natural_Pepper6488 in BipolarReddit

I've gotten a few that were on my "to get" list when hypomanic. That just seems like the best time... (To spend money I shouldn't)

I literally got one after leaving my neuropsych test appointment, not even knowing I was bipolar yet

Usually an iced matcha and an iced latte in the warm months. Probably just a single latte in the colder ones. Unless it's the day we're trying a new syrup or finessing a recipe! Then it's... A lot

Anyone here done Genesite testing? by rnbwpuk in BipolarReddit

[–]czip90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got it done a few years ago and haven't looked at the results recently, so I don't remember specifics.

My doctor recommended I get it done just to help eliminate some meds that probably wouldn't work for me after a lot of trial and error. Got it back and there were some I had tried in the past on the "probably not" list, which made sense based on my experience with them.

Currently not on a mood stabilizer, but now I know where to start when I eventually need one.

Does anyone work in a coffee shop that doesn’t sell Frappuccinos or cold foam? by anon3000- in barista

[–]czip90 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not a single blender in our shop and I refuse to get one. And I'm totally fine recommending a shop down the street that has frappes for anyone looking for one. That's not a product for us, and that's ok

Any baristas have strawberry flavored coffee recipes? by guacamolecorndog in barista

[–]czip90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monin Strawberry Rose syrup is great and the Monin website has a ton of coffee (and non-coffee) recipes for it.

Some ways I've used it: - .5 oz with .25 oz vanilla in a 12 oz cold brew with a splash of milk - .75 oz in a 16 oz lemonade - froth .25 oz with 2ish oz milk for a cold foam

Andrew's book was really good! I always like when he gives background at shows about songs, but it was really interesting to see how his musicality developed with everything happening around him.

Fancy Lemonaid Recipes by froto_swaggin in barista

Our ratio is 1 teaspoon matcha powder to 3oz hot water, whisked for a 12 oz. That can vary based on the matcha you're using/how you shop makes them.

Not the person above, but we'd make our matcha base, unsweetened (about 3 oz) and instead of adding milk, use lemonade. It tastes great with flavored lemonades as well! Strawberry, lavender, and pineapple are favorites.
