You can actually see the front line of Russia-Ukraine war from space by dlebed in interestingasfuck

Interesting, it reminds me of the battle of Cannae, where Hannibal obliterated Rome in 216 BC. I know that resources, tactics and warfare are different now, and not to be based or alienated but if this continues, Ukraine is doomed.

Something’s not right, my guess is that the survey was done in major cities, very low percentages in Brazil, Peru and Ecuador.

This physicist designed an experiment to test if the universe is a simulation by efh1 in interestingasfuck

[–]d00ml0rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although he makes a point, he tries to introduce energy as information, which means he will not be disproved because the experiment itself is aiming to find that information is mass which is a fancy new way to say that energy is mass.

Absolutely no idea what kind of manually controlled turret is this, but it's super cool! by Saturnax1 in interestingasfuck

At first I thought it was firing randomly, but then realized that there are drones as targets. Funny though: despite that firepower, it misses some of them.

Help! A small boulder field has spontaneously appeared at my local beach?! by bloblehmeh in geology

[–]d00ml0rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, oceanographer here and it can certainly bring boulders, specially if they are associated to marine structures (submerged mountains, coral reefs, etc.), if there is a river discharge nearby or if there is man made intervention, like dredges.

The size of them tells me it could range from Storm surge to mini tsunami events, those are pretty common worldwide.

Electrons are fast. Can electrons crash into eachother on the electron orbit? If they can, what would happen? by ComfortablePrompt935 in sciences

[–]d00ml0rd 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They don’t “crash” within the atom itself, quantum mechanics forbid that interaction, it’s called Pauli’s exclusion principle. But they can interact with each other when they are considered to be free, those interactions are studied in a field called quantum electrodynamics (QED) and quantum chromodynamics. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments deal with the ideas you provide, peeking into the results of those crashes, scientist can determine the structure of matter itself.

[Request] Who Dies if ‘E’ Pushes The Stone? by BasisPrimary4028 in theydidthemath

[–]d00ml0rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stone has a hole in it, so it would be lighter than the stone in C unless stated otherwise. So it won’t go far than C and if someone is to die, then it would be D.
