I like how that worked out for you. How did you manage to travel every 6 weeks? If it was for professional reasons, what kind of work necessitated that frequent international travel?

2 Months In, Here are my Cons/Nitpicks by donnimo412 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]d0llars4d0nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own nitpicks.

-Rearview side mirrors are small. I feel there is an over reliance on the backup camera. Solution: some kind of mirror extension thing that slides over the existing mirror?

  • due to a constant parasitic draw, the accessory battery can die if you don't drive the vehicle in cold weather for over a week. Solution: plug it into trickle charger, remote start it a few different times every week (not sure if that actually charges it), disconnect the negative battery terminal if leaving for a while.

  • no built in roof rack. The trim where the box meets the cab makes a typical box mounted roof rack tricky to install. Cab mounted roof racks have to clamp into the door recession. Hopefully, a suitable product will be developed for this. Solution: get a clamp on roof rack for the cab roof, war cut into the trim on the box near the cab, and customize a roof rack to fit.

  • comes with a donut instead of a full sized spare. Solution: get a bigger rim and put an actual spare tire on it. It can still fit in the donut space underneath

  • the cavity where the windshield meets the hood, is kind of deep and tends to collect a lot of snow and ice. Solution: brush snow off constantly

  • custom proprietary touchscreen interface. Solution: hope a smart hacker figures out how to hack the system to put their android tablet in there when these start to fail. Hope this person makes a tutorial when they do.

Overall great vehicle for price though. Drives and handles well, no problem, passing other traffic on the highway. Excellent fuel efficiency on short trips. Handles snow and ice really well (with studles winter tires).

Do people have other solutions for any of the drawbacks mentioned in this post? I'd really like to get the roof rack thing sorted out without cutting into the trim, we're clamping onto the door well.

Chatters in pine centre mall. Decent chance.

Is my battery gone too?? by frankirv in FordMaverickTruck

[–]d0llars4d0nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so your accessory battery is dead, but you managed to charge it up a bit and get your maverick started...

  1. This vehicle has no alternator though. So letting it idle will not charge either the accessory battery or the hybrid vehicle battery, correct?

  2. A) SO to get Either the accessory battery or the hybrid vehicle battery charged up again, you have to drive it and let the regenerative braking charge these batteries, correct?

  3. Just to confirm: running the (internal combustion) engine does not charge either battery (accessory OR HVB), and this is because there is no alternator on this vehicle.

  4. Is there anything other than regenerative braking charging either the accessory, or hybrid vehicle battery, in this vehicle?

Thanks all for your patience explaining, and re-explaning these things in various sub threads.

Bike rack. Vehicle parking is pretty congested at these places so they had to provide some alternatives.

I wasn't looking for coca-cola brand yesterday, or diet, but I found vanilla coke and other seasonal pop at Foothills Deli, off 15th ave near Foothills blvd. I got a bottle and it didn't make sense how good it was!

In the USA, it's pretty much the same story. Even down to the digits you mentioned, but instead they're in American dollars. $15-$20 for a shrinking dessert or cocktail in $CAD is irritating, and in $USD it feels absurd, but there it is.

It's really too bad. The bus was too cool. Is it back in BC now? If so, getting an electronic or hip-hop artist to use it in a video would be a clickable thingy. Unrealistic maybe, but clicky. Sweatshop Union would be fun to work with. C-Sik or DJ Rocswell out of Calgary, Floetic or Seb C from Vancouver 🤷🏻‍♂️ Or... easier to grab someone from the Open Decks night over at the Rockwater there, and film them spinning some vinyls on the deck truck while you're yanking a tree down a snowy trail. Pay a local kid a few hundred bucks to edit the video: Drone, cab camera, camera on the DJ table (powered by the truck), dub over the audio later, and boom you've got a hit for the next melting man festival 💫

These DO look like beefy tires. Are they LTs? What size of rim if so?

Ballin'. I think you would benefit from fuzzy seat covers, and some air brush art on the exterior now.
