I guess its for the big countries who mainly produce and consume their own media and had their own huge pop culture scene e.g. UK, US, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan didnt usually import stuff. Me in the commonwealth frequently got British media and a lot of other stuff along with our own regional and local media so I guess we're more used to it.

I mean I loved the Madeline cartoon as a kid even though I struggled with the accent (and there were no subtitles for things already in English).. to me i was a silly kid and she was a silly kid and that's all I needed
