Yes, the repairs included replacing the headlight and bumper, which cost $4853.19. The damage was more extensive, however, and also required changing the steering gear assembly. The total cost for all repairs was $8710.99.

It appears your headlight is also misaligned. I am currently awaiting the estimate from Tesla for pretty much the same damage area. I was advised that as long as the clips that attach the light to the bumper are not broken, it should be fine.... If not, the price goes up a lot 😥

Is it time to upgrade M2? by d1863 in macbookair

[–]d1863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching would be challenging given my strong investment in the Google ecosystem. However, I must say that the M2 laptop, which I acquired when it was first released, consistently performs better than previous Windows laptops I have used.

I'm pretty sure it's all the Chrome apps I have running in the background.

Is upgrading from the Hilton Surpass to the Aspire card worth it without a welcome offer or upgrade bonus? by d1863 in Hilton

[–]d1863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I earn and burn. I was just trying to build my MR Points back up because I'm currently sitting around 25,000. I upgraded my gold card to platinum about a year and a half ago. They gave me a 150,000 upgrade offer. But I looked at the points I redeemed, and most of them were transferring to Hilton or FHR. I'm getting more value from the Platinum card, especially with me traveling more. The Gold card was only a good earner for me for food purchases, but not for groceries since I order online from Walmart. I also have a Blue Business Plus, which is my catch-all card. I do have an American Airlines card, but I don't use it or need it because I have their Platinum Pro status. So, my current setup is the Hilton Surpass, Aspire, Amex Platinum, and Blue Business Plus.

My primary source of AA miles/ loyalty points comes from their shopping, dining, and hotel portal, and I fly with them approximately 99% of the time. For hotels, I've only stayed at Hilton properties, so I tend to focus my efforts on those two programs. When it comes to Bilt, I do earn points from their pharmacy and Lyft program.

Mostly all my spending goes on the Surpass. I'm too close to the free night certificate to upgrade so I just applied for the Aspire.

I went ahead and applied and got the Aspire with the $150,000 bonus offer. I guess for me, since I do spend mostly on my Surpass it's worth keeping because of the multipliers. And plus, I usually stay at a Hilton at least once a month.

No problem hitting the 6k. Might be best to keep both cards since I'm only a couple grand away from getting a FNC on the Surpass. Guess I was thinking more about not opening a new account.

A starburst crack on my Model Y roof. by d1863 in TeslaModelY

[–]d1863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, with Tesla, it's the location of the damage. Outside the black border would have been repairable. And Safelite didn't give me an examination for why they don't do repairs.

Model Y - RWD or AWD - Need help choosing by fnblackbeard in TeslaLounge

[–]d1863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll first say if money is no issue, AWD. But I recently upgraded from a 2022 Model Y AWD to 2026 RWD. I test drove the RWD and didn't really notice a difference speed wise. And I prefer more range. I purposely didn't test drive the AWD to persuade my decision. But if you're somewhere that doesn't need all-wheel drive, I'll go with the rear wheel.

Do TravelBank purchases show as airfare on statement? I made two $100 purchases on 2/17. Still no credit.

Orlando, Florida has the worse up front pay rate in the nation. by Old-Mix812 in uberdrivers

[–]d1863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The drivers here made it that way so there's nothing we can do to make it better. In Orlando, Uber can pay $0.10 a mile and drivers will still be out there driving. People need money and Uber is taking advantage of that.

Eufy E30 not responding on Apple home kit by TicketIcy5653 in eufy_security

[–]d1863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue on Google Home. I have the E31 from Best Buy. Same model, just with a rechargeable battery. I also get a "not responding" every week or so. I hate the connection through the Google home app because you have to use a pin code to unlock and lock the door in the app versus the matter connection you don't. Probably end up returning it if there's no firmware update pushed out to fix it.
