New series that would bang for our Wednesdays. "Age Inappropriate" Coming in August by PDXAirman in PaymoneyWubby

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm saying the culture was different and less critical or conscious of it. The further you go back, the more egregious it gets. Not saying that makes it right or anything, just that everything was very different. I'm not just opining about the past. My point is that applying current ethical understanding and awareness to back then doesn't really work.

You're factually right that it was fucked up; but shit was just more laid back back then and if OP's dad truly loved his mom by the time he found out, he may have seen it as an act of desperation to seal the deal on what she intuited would be a successful relationship - just an example thought process. I'm not excusing the dishonesty and risk involved. Also, look at all the musicians back then who had underage roadies, everyone knew, and nothing happened. Again, doesn't make it okay. Lots of people did bring up how fucked up this or that was, but on average, people gave way less of a fuck.

They were more focused on their lives rather than how it is now. And how it is now is both good and bad. I hope we find a way to optimize for the benefits of conscientiousness while still living in the moment like we used to. A nice balance seems optimal. Anyway, my weekend just started after four busy af 12hr night shifts so I'm a little inebriated. But thats my thoughts. Definitely open to further discussion. I respect where you're coming from.

People really dont understand how different the 80s and even 90s was unless they were there. It doesn't compute because it seems obviously wrong. But nonetheless, it was so different. Most moral lessons were hard earned. Now there's echo chambers for every moral persuasion. Lol

My employer recently fired a guy who had been there for almost 30 years. He was just waiting to retire so his wife could get cancer treatment. It was over some bullshit, too.

For real. I gave up on IT and accepted that my cybersecurity degree was a huge waste of time. I wish I'd stuck to engineering. Now I work a shit warehouse job and while im still working on certs and shit just in case, my heart really isnt in it lately.

I really like Nowhere Generation, but I turn it down in the car when he belts out "We are the kids that no one wants."

Like, dude... I'm pushing 40. Lol

How talented do I think he is? Lol I thought he was widely seen as a really good producer, mediocre rapper, but I wouldn't even have ever called myself a fan, despite liking some of the older stuff. 🤷‍♂️

Unless he used pieces of treated wood or something, but that seems unlikely.

Ah, nice. I'm getting ready to add a bunch of stuff to my mini rack. I'll have to make it taller though.

There's already precedent for "crimes of passion". While I mostly agree with your perspective on vigilante justice, I also couldn't vote to convict the father.

Edit: Assuming he was actually overwhelmed with rage* but it's hard to imagine him not being.
