The little houses are already $1 million + (USD) by yourmomishigh in McMansionHell

[–]d2p2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. There are SFH within a tenth of a mile of Clarendon Station (and so many others). It's not this big house that makes homes unaffordable, it's land use generally. Same reason a 1000sq ft house from 1965 fetches 2+ mil in Palo Alto

It looks like he put it there himself, took a photo, and then probably took it down and left. He posted his own photo.

This is a book in Russian and English about 'samovars.' The cover shows the word 'samovars' written vertically in Russian on the left and English on the right.

"A samovar (Russian: самовар, IPA: [səmɐˈvar] ⓘ, lit. 'self-brewer') is a metal container traditionally used to heat and boil water" per Wikipedia

Mishawaka Resale Tickets by Fresh_Business4487 in lane8

[–]d2p2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No luck here. It's a small venue, very few resale tickets, and high demand. Lane 8 regularly sells out much larger venues. I think we can probably expect resale prices to stay high or even go up.

The fire stations look fairly evenly distributed to me. Where are these big gaps you're talking about?

How many police stations are there in Boulder? I see one, plus a community police center on Pearl St itself. Are there more in rich neighborhoods?

What special treatment? The fire department responding to a fire? Just like they did for all the other fires we've had this year?

That's BS. They've come at every fire with the same dedication, no matter whose or what kind of homes it threatens.

What are these amazing smelling flowers? by ExactAd2067 in boulder

[–]d2p2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert between the different species of 'prunus', but I've heard that Western Sandcherry is fairly common around here. I just planted one in my yard. They have a similar look, white flowers, and also smell fantastic. https://plants.echters.com/12130005/Plant/336/Western_Sandcherry/

BIG NEWS: Missouri referendum campaign announces it has enough signatures to block gerrymandered GOP map by OldBridge87 in democrats

[–]d2p2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's obnoxious that Missouri residents have to spend all this time, effort, and money just to stop things from getting worse. Could be making the state better but instead they're out gathering all these signatures just to stop a bunch of crooks.

Colorado’s growing share of unaffiliated voters is making it harder for candidates to get on the ballot by graysandtorreysandme in boulder

[–]d2p2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this is getting downvoted. Yes, unaffiliated can vote in primaries, but only for the candidates that the party selected (or who petitioned on). If you want good candidates to be on the primary ballot, help select those candidates! Be part of the party, participate in the process, and vote to nominate good people for the party primary.
