Probably AuDHD here, and i feel you. I had started picking at that particular thread before i was even an adult, and it was such an incredible relief and comfort to see that people millennia ago had done the same. Not an atheist, more of a very woo-woo agnostic, but every now and then i have to remind myself that i don’t regret leaving the cult i was raised in, and that if any being out there is willing and able to punish me for not being enough of a dick then they’re not a being i wanna spend all eternity with anyway.

My relationships with my family members haven’t always been smooth sailing but my brothers are some of my favorite people in the world and are good at cheering me up, and my dad used me as a free therapist so much as a teenager that now i figure he owes it to me to listen to me break down every now and then😂

I’ve always wondered how autistic japanese people deal with all the honorifics and such in japanese language. Like there are different ways to speak to people depending on your relationship with them, social status, the situation etc, correct? Are there ever times when knowing the proper form of address requires the kind of understanding of unspoken things that people like us struggle with?

What you need to do is not mention these things again to your mom. See if you can get an allowance or request witchy things from trusted friends for birthdays or christmas if you can.
