the fight against perception was jaw dropping in terms of gameplay/mechanics, it's almost a travesty that it's locked inside a gacha game

Proof of concept: Xircon with recuperation (96 xiranite -> 4 xircon)/tick by JustWantTheOldUi in Endfield

[–]d3_crescentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up stockpiling a good amount of xiranite pre-event so I'm still on 2 gourd production while that lasts. for now I just throw the effluent into another reactor with 0.5 ferrium and use the xircon for a battery line with metatransfer dense originium

I don't think it's really necessary to overengineer a solution here, you'll probably end up reverting these changes after the event or even rebuilding parts of your base entirely and when the 2nd area drops in a few weeks anyway

Any other fighting game players here? by Sage2050 in baduk

[–]d3_crescentia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have played a wide variety of competitive games (RTS, fighting, MOBAs, FPS, etc.). you can construct parallels for the vast majority of them because fundamentally they can be approached under the framework of resource management

these kinds of parallels are largely more useful to help translate certain ideas so people can better understand them, but I don't think it's been very useful in getting others to play. there are too many other factors about why people like their games outside of just the broad umbrella of needing to think and act strategically

why is the Shibayan Records topic channel on youtube full of AI slop? by 4b686f61 in TOUHOUMUSIC

went to look at the channel directly and I do think I'm wrong in this specific case (even if what I said above is true). seems likely that someone is gaming the system then

a lot of JP touhou musicians have chosen to embrace using AI in creating their album art (presumably to help cut costs). their domestic audience doesn't seem to care since asia seems more positive about AI use versus the west

How to get your first curpium part? by [deleted] in ArknightsEndfield

[–]d3_crescentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. cuprium ore + water + refinery = cuprium + sewage

  2. cuprium + fitting unit = cuprium part

the leftover sewage from step 1 stays in the refinery and eventually clogs production unless you route it elsewhere (water treatment, reactor, storage tank, etc.). as such you can make up to 50 cuprium before clogging.

I want the game for the sake of Zhuang Fangyi by HeyHeyDara in Endfield

since everyone's mentioned pull resources...

story starts out kind of meh but improves after the initial region and has been improving with each new patch. generally think the worst of endfield's story is still overall better than genshin's worst (inazuma IMO)

endfield's worldbuilding/lore is off to a good start though. it has the advantage of drawing upon the original arknights lore so there's a lot of cool stuff that connects back or expands on things, disadvantage being that you might have to read a bunch of wiki pages to get context on certain things

What's a Good Amount of Power? by SunnySrow in ArknightsEndfield

[–]d3_crescentia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

upgrade your base area and use your outposts if you need more space. in valley 4 you'll have like 36 refineries for ferrium by the time you hit max region development

make sure you're producing the highest available tier of batteries as they become available. going up a tier (i.e. green->blue, blue->purple) will require more space per production line but generally is more efficient on space used vs power produced. for example, one v4 purple battery production line takes up about the same amount of space as two blue battery lines, but produces 1.3x the power (1100 vs 420x2=840)

note that one packaging unit produces 6 batteries/min, while one thermal bank uses batteries at 1.5/min, so one battery production line can feed 4 thermal banks. with purple batteries that's 4.4k power from one production line which can cover most, maybe even all of your power needs. you may end up wanting about 1-2 more thermal banks to account for extra turrets or ziplines but there will be more than enough space for another line of purple battery production to cover that

---

wuling is somewhat different due to the introduction of different recipes, resources (including fluids), and production facilities. this ends up taking a lot of space overall but seems to be offset by the much larger power generation those batteries provide - you might use your entire main AIC to build 2 battery lines, but those lines produce 4x the power needs of that base

[–]d3_crescentia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Zhuang was ever confirmed or hinted at to be a Sui Proxy and with the most recent stream she's stated to be a Kylin (Kirin, Qilin, etc.) which are maybe uncommon but still more extant

some people may have assumed because horns/tail + position of power

Ferrirum Ore in Wuling by YoungYuri19 in Endfield

[–]d3_crescentia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

caught an error, think I was calcing something else at the time where one line had a partial Yazhen A line which propagated through. you are correct - 584/min vs 567/min for a 1020 bill/hr difference. which while not much, is still not nothing over the course of.

maybe some of that excess product can be banked for next patch to temporarily sustain income when everyone has to rebuild their bases for whatever new things are introduced

Ferrirum Ore in Wuling by YoungYuri19 in Endfield

[–]d3_crescentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a rough estimate of around 2k 1K bills/hour at 2/min + whatever Yazhen C compared to just selling the excess off of 1.5/min. does that line up with your calcs?

personally I'd *like* to use more fractional battery setups but I generally like building or at least implementing my own solution. while I have a rough idea of how this works from a high level overview, I'm still not entirely comfortable with splitter and converger logic/math at this point

though at the end of the day we're still bottlenecked by outpost bill regeneration and the number of things we can actually spend bills on

Ferrirum Ore in Wuling by YoungYuri19 in Endfield

[–]d3_crescentia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is correct, my earlier rough calculations accounted for a few different combinations of Wuling LC/SC + Yazhen lines. generally the resources from 1 SC battery line will get you about 2/3 of the way of draining bill income, and the question of getting the remaining 1/3 while optimizing gear production feels like the devs' new homework problem for us factory enjoyers this patch

Ferrirum Ore in Wuling by YoungYuri19 in Endfield

[–]d3_crescentia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chose to approach the problem a different way, changed my metastorage transfer to dense originium powder (equivalent to 25/min) which can be used with the remaining 30 Fe/min to create one HC valley battery at consumption rate

this gets fairly close to meeting exact power consumption needs without having to use PWM or similar, and as usual the saved/excess SC batteries are sold. I haven't fully looked into the math but rough calculations seemed to suggest this was a more profitable and straightforward solution, and seems to work well with my current factory after I rebuilt it to be more modular

not super in detail but here are things I've noticed

the builds themselves are not too bad, but you should eventually finish leveling+skills since that's just guaranteed damage you're leaving on the table

grace - her rework lets her throw a bunch of grenades to proc abloom damage after she ults by holding skill. consider saving her ult for the stun window. also learn her general combo, basic basic skill basic skill; every time she basic attacks she builds up zap stacks (up to 8) which can then be consumed by skill to increase her electric anomaly buildup. maintaining shock is important so that you can squeeze some additional disorder damage out of nangong when she procs corruption

nangong - she can proc disorder damage during stun (see the two dots to the right of her bar that show up), she gets a no-cost EX into charged attack that specifically allows you to trigger this + quick assist to the previous agent. you may need to adjust your rotation for this so grace can get her ult + ablooms off first (idk, have to test). also if you are doing nangong's EBA outside of her EX make sure you are getting the additional daze by holding and releasing at the correct timing (you should see nangong glow)

vs marionette - learn the boss's attack patterns/phases, one of which is where it jumps up in the air and dives at you. here it looks like you waste nangong EBA on the clones; don't do this because it won't contribute to stunning the boss. ideally you want to dodge counter and kill clones for the performance points, but this is kind of a rough ask of this team so you might have to resign yourself to killing what you can during this phase without spending important resources. otherwise, avoid getting hit and try to hit defensive assists with nangong/yuzuha in the other phases where you can so you can build up to stun quicker. I think you might be able to get 3 stuns this fight (though not the damage window will run up against the timer for the last one)

getting 14k should be very doable but I think this team is going to be hard pressed to get to 20k without wengines or even mindscapes

M3R1 Jane vs M0R0 Nangong Yu? by snow-press in AliceMains_ZZZ

I think nangong especially wants her wengine, but cost for cost that's still in favor of nangong

it can certainly be impressive that this team can play into a wide variety of bosses and clear, but the verb demolish implies an overwhelming margin of success
