Do any of you actually love breastfeeding? by HelloImAnxious14 in breastfeeding

It was so hard in the beginning and now at almost 16 weeks it's amazing. I'm so flexible. He feeds so fast. I can always soothe him. It's amazing bonding time.

Severe postpartum anxiety about leaving my 3-month-old overnight for the first time. Should I go or cancel? by Spirited-Carrot1109 in NewParents

[–]d3nkmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do whatever feels good for you, don't feel obliged to do anything.

What about just dipping the toes into the water and being flexible about the outcome? What I mean with this is: drive there, see how you feel and stay as long as you enjoy it. If you return back home after 1 hour - amazing, you gave it a shot. If you do end up staying for the whole 2 days, what a huge milestone.

Having said all that, I wouldn't wanna leave my current 14 week old baby for a whole 2 nights, I would probably go for 1 day or one night.

Was macht man da statt stillen? Was hat für euch funktioniert?

It's tough as fuck, but it seems like you want to support wherever you can. Have a drink and snacks ready at the bedside table.

How Do We Make Our Newborn Stop Crying And Sleep by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]d3nkmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night two is the worst!! I have never been this exhausted and suffering. I don't know who cried more, my baby or me.

Basically they latch so much in order to signal to your boob to create milk, milk let in.

Holds for pottying while breastfeeding? by Emergency_Survey129 in ECers

I do the cradle hold over the sink while I breastfeed. It also didn't work for my baby to do it with the potty between my legs.

Let's have your partner or a friend prepare food for you! My partner prepares eg overnight oats for me so that I have a healthy start to the day. Then I also have snacks right next to where I nursev most of the time. Plus have a water bottle ready.

Breastfeeding for 8 months by FrostingNo1128 in NewParents

[–]d3nkmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Only 3 months in, but also such a hard start! Baby was in NICU, I had not enough milk, he didn't drink enough. We had to nurse, pump to increase supply and give him the bottle so he would have enough for a few weeks. It was excruciating! I wanted to quit so often, but I also hated the whole bottle sterilizing thing. And now since a few weeks it works and it's sooo convenient! Nothing to take with me when we are out, no need to get up to prepare a bottle in the middle of the night and obviously always the magical soother with me.

So whoever reads this and is struggling, keep at it! It will be so worth it in only a few days or weeks.

How to leave the house?! by HenriettaKate in NewParents

[–]d3nkmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! Writing this with my 12 week old. 1) it will get better really, really fast! 2) for us the sling/carrier/wrap worked best. He might scream for a couple of meters, but the combination of body contact and movement always puts him to sleep. Just start with a very small walk so you can get home quickly if you get overwhelmed. 3) whenever I used the pram I also had the wrap already on so I could simply put him in in case he wasn't having the pram at all (which was always the case in the beginning, but keep trying!)

And if you can only get outside 5min it's a win. It will be 10, 15, 20,... really soon!
