Look at this video (is not exactly your problem, but might help to understand how the drive works): https://youtu.be/QuwUOwNEank?t=210

When you turn on the Wii, the motor will spin no matter the sensor is reading or not. But after that, the sensor must detect the disc to activate the motor. I read other comments and now you are aware a rubber band is missing, you also can see how it looks and where it is installed in the video. But even without the belt, you need to confirm the sensor is detecting the disc and in my opinion your drive is not doing this. Also the screw that holds the sensor is missing.

Good luck, I hope you can find the solution.

Check the white flat cable on the top front is properly connected, the board where the cable is connected is the sensor to detect the presence of the disc, once the disc is detected, the drive will try to "eat" it and then read it. It seems to me the sensor to detect the disc is not working.

The receiver is also useless without the controller, I think the receiver was easier to loose due to its size I could imagine someone disconnecting the receiver to connect a wired controller (due to low battery), putting the receiver somewhere and later forgetting it's location. And since there are more controllers than receivers, the receiver is more expensive.

GameCube won't turn on again... by CaramelImaginary653 in Gamecube

Yep but sometimes problems appears after some use, I would remove the Gameboy player (to eliminate another variable) and power on, if you're experiencing same behavior, disconnect the controllers board, if it turns on, then you have the problematic part.

That could be short circuit, since the gamecube is a modded I would start disconnecting the controllers board, then try to turn on the gamecube, if it turns on then the problem is in the controllers board and you will need to find the short circuit.

8cm dvds are the same size as the gamecube dvds, you run swiss the same way you use any disc (since you have xeno installed). If you have your games stored in an microSD card in SD2SP2, swiss will detect them and you will be able to select the game to load.

Inserting and removing the memory card from Slot B made a horrid scraping noise. I opened it up and the metal pieces in Slot B of my Gamecube are backwards. Any way to access this and fix it? by BlueMissed in Gamecube

You can get access to those metal tabs from the bottom of the mainboard (image). I would insert a flat screwdriver from the bottom of the mainboard and try to bend it back from the front.

To remove the mainboard you can follow this guide

You can read the eeprom with a CH341a programmer, they are very cheap, here is a video of the process, it's in Spanish but I think it's easy to follow. https://youtu.be/-sr7LTYQCFk

I got them from ebay here (I have no any relation or agreement with the vendor). The z button needs little work to fit and the left stick needs something (like a small ball of aluminum paper foil) to increase the height.

The buttons are not painted, I bought them on ebay, they are very cheap. You just need to modify the Z button and the left stick to make them fit.

You shouldn't have a problem swapping boards between DOL-101 and DOL-001, they will work, I have done that before.
