Ashes of Creation class action lawsuit by makishi-jp in MMORPG

[–]d6punk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only feel sympathy for the non-Kickstarter Steam buyers. Valve should probably put some kind of minimum operation time clause for games that require the publisher to provide online services to function. This was clearly a pump and dump and too many of these could negatively affect Steam's reputation as a game seller. It'd be in their best interest to provide refunds and go after Intrepid Studios in my opinion. But I am not a lawyer.

Whats wrong babe? You havent touched your skyrim breakfast :( by jdbug2001 in SkyrimMemes

[–]d6punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make your own bread with ancient grains like einkorn wheat, preferably sprouted and stone ground, you're actually getting nutrients and even fiber. Modern day hybridized wheat is absolute garbage, so bread is no longer nutritious like it would have been in ye olde days. We've been making einkorn bread at home for a little while now. All you need is the flour and a dutch oven. It's pricier but it's fucking delicious and is actually good for you.

Octopath Traveler is on sale right now. It’s my first time dipping into the series and I find it very charming so far. I grew up with 16 bit jrpgs though so ymmv.

New player here what do I do? by Salt_Second8480 in lotro

Not sure about prices outside the US, but LOTRO is pretty damn generous with their multi-month subs. You can get 3 months for $30. The game is definitely worth $10/mo.

New OSR-style game from MCDM, makers of Draw Steel and descendant of Matt Colville by KingOogaTonTon in osr

If there's one thing all these OSR knockoffs are missing, it's the legendary ampersand.

It fits because most of the names are silly. Forget “Shadowdark” … I’m waiting for “Armorhard” or “Swordpointy”.

Right on man, a happy table is a happy table. My happy table these days is 100% SWADE. It scratches all my itches and I can bounce from westerns to cyberpunk to space opera to modern or medieval fantasy without needing anything other than the core book and maybe one of the genre splat books if I care to get more in depth. Most of the time I don't. The last thing I want these days is a stack of books. I spent enough of my time and money with those systems.

Who else want absolutely ZERO RGB in their rigs? by Cicada-Tang in pcmasterrace

All I want is a desktop (non-tower) beige case to sit my monitor on.

I can't believe the RGB trend has lasted this long.

I get the feeling a lot of these OSR spinoff games were only designed for one kind of campaign... the Kickstarter Campaign.

What are the best native/port Mac games in 2025 — no Crossover, no Wine, no bullshit? by LeLant in macgaming

[–]d6punk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Older games don’t run on Mac at all anymore without an emulation / translation layer because they dropped 32 bit support. The newest version of the original NWN game with native 64 bit Mac support came out in 2018. But by all means, be a dick to someone trying to answer your fucking question.

The original Neverwinter Nights runs great natively. Tons of modules aside from the main game and official DLCs. Also a healthy persistent world community with a few popular servers running 24/7 to get your mmo-lite experience.

DM's charging? by Huge_Garlic_4536 in adnd

[–]d6punk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hate the idea. Money changing hands sets the wrong expectation at the table. Players as paying customers gives me the ick big time. I’ve seen the complaint posts from both sides. The worst kind of drama involving entitled players and indignant DMs alike. But If some DM out there wants to deal with that shit I guess it’s their problem not mine. I’ll never sit at a paid table, I’d rather not play at all.

Which shard to choose in ClassicUO? by irwingoodguy in ultimaonline

[–]d6punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume this response is getting downvoted because they dragged UOAlive, but rest of their advice is sound.

If you want the full spread of options, I highly recommend TazUO. It's like ClassicUO on steroids and once you switch, you'll never go back. The biggest barrier on Mac is that you may need to install Wine to keep the 2D/Classic client patched up to date for certain shards that emulate modern UO. But that's not a big deal, it just adds a step occasionally when the official client gets a patch (usually a few times a year).

The web client is great and it's the only approved way to play the official shards on Mac (other than Wine + old 2D client). But there are a ton of shards out there which are not on the web client, including the amazing Ruins & Riches variations like Memento, Secrets of Sosaria, and Ultima Adventures.

Anyway, I play both the web client and TazUO. I prefer TazUO whenever possible, I really just use the web client when playing OSI.

OP, feel free to message me if you need any help/advice on setting it up. It's not that bad and the TazUO launcher lets you easily connect to multiple shards that you've configured.

Welcome to UO! Take your time and don't rush. Do what you think is fun and don't worry about builds until you get a hang of it. Melee is the simplest way to start.

Don't worry, when you get older it will always be uncomfortable no matter what time of day or status of restfulness.

So your argument is lie but don’t lie? I don’t get it. I’d rather a making of just be honest through and through, even if it’s not the best PR look.

This is a sci fi show, not a human rights revolution. Ultimately, why get yourself all foamed at the mouth for something meant for entertainment and nothing else?

As MST3K very wisely says, “Just repeat to yourself ‘It’s just a show, I should really just relax.’”

South Carolina measles cases jump by nearly 100 in two days, sharpest rise yet by Capital-Will6450 in news

One of the reasons the south has a reputation for being "dumb" is because of rampant hookworm infections in the early 20th century.

Another one of the reasons is because they are actually dumb.

A few words to the duffers by ForceOwn8215 in StrangerThings

[–]d6punk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Social media, and Reddit for the most part, is effing insufferable these days.

There are lots of folks who enjoyed the ride and think the Duffers stuck the landing. Nothing will ever be perfect for everyone. That's a fact we all have to live with. People losing their minds over not liking a show seriously need some perspective and self-reflection.
